I haven't heard anything from them one way or the other, yet.

Is there a potential for funding if someone else declines their offer? It's worth calling them up and asking...hey, they want you there enough that they admitted you, right? Rejected by BC, but in at Georgetown. You can't predict some of this stuff, eh?

Very similar situation for me and UGA. The website said a decision was made as to my application on 2/5, but I didn't get the official letter from the grad school for a few weeks. I also haven't heard anything about funding, visitation, etc. Their website makes it seem as though the visitation process is DIY.

Conditional admit usually means the department has admitted you, and now they're waiting for the grad school to rubber-stamp the acceptance. Bureaucracy in action at the big state schools!

Of course, calling the grad school gets me transferred to the poli sci dept, calling the poli sci dept gets me transferred to the grad school. I'm putting this one down as another rejection. My signature is starting to look like a fucking bloodbath. (My third LOR never sent his letter to Brown, either...whoof.)

I just received a blank email from Vanderbilt. I'm assuming they forgot to cut-and-paste my rejection into the body of the letter. (It just says, "Dear Mr. DrRockso", then a "Sincerely, Dennis G, Hall, PhD")

I'm also waiting to hear from the Tar Heels. Excellent suggestion on both points, coach. Someone should email UNC, and it should be someone who isn't me. Homer's campaign slogan comes to mind here, "Can't someone else do it?"

I was just thinking the same thing. It's not exactly a hornet's nest of activity here, and you would think some of the Jan 1st or Jan 15th deadline schools would be reporting today.

They still haven't made a decision on me, it seems. What date was your app forwarded to the Poli Sci Dept for consideration?

High Noon...waitin' on UNC!

BC's a funny school to get a feel for in terms of acceptances/rejections. A friend of mine currently at Michigan was rejected by BC, too. I wouldn't worry too much, I don't think it's a good measuring stick for how you'll do with your other applications.
