  1. Does anyone know the protocol regarding the day after decision day? I have yet to hear anything from one school (UConn) and I haven't heard about a waitlist. I am ready for this to be over (:
  2. I wanted to chime in and let you know that I had also solicited from CU Boulder the same day, March 12, and was also told that the decisions hadn't been made and were going to be made before the end of the month. I have no idea what it means, but just wanted you to know it wasn't just you! Anybody have anymore contact with UConn?
  3. I forgot to mention that I have been waitlisted at the University of Arizona, so I am waiting to hear back on that!
  4. I'm waiting for... 1)UConn 2)Vanderbilt 3)Stanford (I'm also assuming what you stated) 4) Colorado I solicited all of these schools two weeks ago and didn't hear back from UConn or Vanderbilt. I'm mainly holding my breath on UConn, so here's hoping!
  5. When did you solicit? I solicited Monday and haven't heard anything back. I'm sorry you heard back bad news.
  6. I did see that someone solicited an acceptance from Rutgers, and I think that someone else posted on another thread a solicited acceptance. UConn has been solicited by so many of us, I wonder why they haven't responded at all...
  7. That's what I am hoping as well. At the very least, maybe they will respond to one of us!
  8. At least I'm not alone! Please update if you hear anything! I hope you hear something good.
  9. Does anyone have any idea what's going with UConn? I solicited several schools on Monday and they are the only ones who haven't responded. I'd like to, y'know, plan my life a bit.
  10. I solicited them yesterday and heard back today (rejection). Only 4 left!
  11. Update: Like I said earlier today, I solicited Rutgers yesterday and just got an informal rejection from them.
  12. Seriously no problem at all! I'm grateful that you updated now. Now we know that UConn is making decisions (albeit slowly) and that the end is near. (: Thanks!
  13. Thank you so much for your update! I am also Philosophy of Language..... I don't think my nerves can take much more of this.
  14. You are not the only one! I asked awhile ago in this thread if anybody could claim it and nobody did (to my recollection). It seems like a few of these schools are. I am confused why some would send out acceptances and rejections but leave some of us hanging. What's the point in keeping the applications "alive?" I'll update if I hear back from anywhere else!
  15. Congratulations on getting to that point! I only have one waitlist, so I am really holding out hope for these last few (especially UConn). In full disclosure, I also had the nerve to solicit UConn, Rutgers, Stanford, and Vanderbilt. I only heard back from Colorado and Stanford so far.
  16. That was me! I solicited them yesterday and got a bit of an unhelpful response back which just said that they "hoped by the end of the month." I also solicited Stanford, who said they do not have final decisions "at this time." I'm pretty over waiting, to be honest.
  17. I've been lurking forever, but have finally decided to explicitly ask the things I am hoping someone might know and could ease my mind. So here it goes! Does anyone have any thoughts on.... -Why we haven't seen more Arizona acceptances, or know how their waitlist works? I was told I am on a "short waitlist" and it's my only not-rejection so far. -Colorado (Boulder) and their process? I believe their were a few acceptances but no waitlists or rejections. -Any idea of what UConn might be doing? That's the school I am waiting for, but it seems like they have been pretty inconsistent the last few years. Thanks!
  18. I am also VERY anxiously awaiting UConn and Colorado as the most likely ones left. It seems that UConn generally announces pretty late? That's why I have seen looking from years past. It seems like a few years ago, it was a real mess so I hope it will be better this year.
  19. Yes, I have been checking and it still says that my application is under review by the department. There are no messages. The suspense is also getting the best of me! I wish I understood what they were doing. Pitt seems to be doing something similar.
  20. I second being REALLY confused by this. Is it true that they accept 25, though? Because I definitely haven't seen 25 acceptances.... http://philosophy.wisc.edu/graduate/admissions.php (Where I am getting the 25 from)
  21. My application page also says this, so I've been chalking it up to a standard notification from the graduate admissions because most other departments do require test scores.
  22. Ah, philosophy puns! What better way to past the time. I bet these could get good. Episode413, to my understanding, "no-incest" rules primarily apply to hiring at schools. Oftentimes schools won't hire those who got their PhD from the same school. Congratulations on Toronto!
  23. I am also in that both with you all. I'd love to know what their strategy is.... I'm waiting to hear back from 13 more, but so far, have had four rejections. The ones I am most anxiously awaiting are Yale (the dream), UConn (Runner-up to that dream), Arizona, Colorado, and the University of Washington. Should be any day now, right?
