This may seem like a silly question, I had to miss the orientation back in April. But does anyone know how many semesters the 1-Year Advanced Standing at UofT is? Is it 1 full year? or 8 months? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you! It was definately nice coming home after a long day and seeing the package in the mail! My status on acorn and SGS have not changed. I am applying from Toronto, so not our of province. My education: Gerontology degree from Western, SSW diploma, Post-degree BSW from York (in my final semester). My grades from Western were ok- not stellar. I think it helped me to have the ssw diploma and the bsw since my grades were a lot better. My GPA is around 8 out of a 9 point scale from York. I have been noting that there were some comments about having many many paid hours to have a good chance of getting in, but I do not think that is true. Most of my experiences are from school placements or volunteer hours. I do not work during the school year to focus on my studies, and generally work in the summers that are somewhat related to the social services field. I hope this helps answer your questions! Hi everyone I just got home and there was a package waiting for me from UofT! I have officially be accepted into advanced standing for the gerontology stream. Anyone else in this stream?? Sending out positive vibes to those who have not heard yet!!

Did your acorn say invited prior to you receiving your letter? Also did you apply for 1 year advanced standing? CONGRATS, btw!!

Hi All, My ACORN update today and says "SW MSW 1 2018-2019, Fall/Winter, Invited'. I hope this means that I have been admitted into the program. My last name starts with R if anyone was curious. My SGS still says 'Under Review' though so I will keep everyone posted!
