  1. Congratulations I have applied for the September start! I just finished my application last night.
  2. Did you get accepted to the two year MSW program or the online program? just wondering
  3. I spoke to Terry earlier this week and he said that people usually hear if they have been offered a spot off the waitlist as early as the first week of June. However, you can get off the waitlist as late as August!
  4. For those of you that were waitlisted for U of T. I have some information about the waitlist. I called Terry today asking about how decisions are made about the waitlist. First, he informed me that the waitlist is not ranked because once a spot opens up, all the applications on the waitlist are reviewed again. This is because some people are still completing their degree and may update their GPA/ send in another transcript. He could not tell me how many people are on the waitlist because the admissions committee did not provide that information. Also, there is a good chance that nobody will get off the waitlist until early June. The government made a new law stating that no school can ask for a deposit before the first week of June because many people are still waiting for other acceptances from other schools. I asked about the acceptance for the advanced standing program and he said that it is much higher than the two-year MSW. This year, they accepted 80 or 90 people out of 350 for the Advanced Standing Program. They accepted 130 out of 800 for the 2-year MSW. He told me that year someone started completing a 1-year BSW and got off the waitlist in August. This person was given the option of accepting the 2-year MSW or applying again for Advanced Standing once they complete their BSW. He told me that this applicant had decided to accept the admission to the 2-year MSW. I hope this is helpful for some people!
  5. I think your suspicion might be right. They have to balance the 2nd year cohort so that everyone can specialize.
  6. Did anyone else hear back from Wilfrid Laurier's 2-year program?
  7. Thank you so much for this information! It is very helpful
  8. Hi Everyone! I have been waitlisted for Toronto as well. Does anyone know how many people they accept off the waitlist?
  9. I haven't heard back from U of T but they may not be updating ACORN since they have mailed all the letters yesterday! Don't give up hope yet. Renison-University College offers a BSW post graduate degree for 10 months, as long as you meet the prerequisites.
  10. I am too scared to check ACORN today so if anyone checks today, let me know if it has been updated
  11. I am a bit nervous because my ACORN didn't change today but I will know soon enough if the letters were mailed out today Does anyone know if people have been accepted without their ACORN status changing? (in the past). I feel like I am bracing myself for a waitlist or rejection because my status didn't change.
  12. Mine is still blank as well! From what I understand, it is supposed to be blank until it says "MSW -invited". I am thinking that they did not do any updating today. Perhaps they will do another round tomorrow. I have absolutely no clue but I am still hoping that they are still updating. In past years, they did not update all at once so I am hoping for the best. If they are sending out decisions by tomorrow, then we should know by the middle of next week
  13. Did anyone’s status change on ACORN?
  14. Hoping U of T sends out some more acceptances today
  15. I have been accepted to the BSW program today and I will not be attending if I get accepted to U of T. Don't be too worried about Laurier! I am sure you will hear back soon, they are just taking a long time.
  16. I just asked someone that I know that is currently completing U of T's MSW program and she said that she did not hear back until May! This would be 2 years ago.
  17. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Just wondering, what letter does your last name start with?
  18. How am I supposed to focus on exams now? I have logged into ACORN about five times in the last hour...
  19. I wonder if they are sending out 2-year admissions in alphabetical order. My last name starts with "p".
  20. I am getting extremely nervous now. I logged into ACORN and it doesn't say invited yet... I wonder if all the admissions are going out today. Does anyone have a screenshot of where it would say invited?
  21. I got accepted too! Waiting on U of T now I hope we hear back soon!
  22. Anxiously waiting for the two-year MSW admissions from U of T! Hopefully, they will roll out admissions today or tomorrow. I read my personal statement again and I found a mistake.. so I don't recommend reading your personal statements.
  23. Thank you for the reassurance
  24. Mid-April is so long! I don't know about anyone else, but that might be right at the end of exam period for me. I am getting a bit nervous myself. I am coming right out of my undergraduate degree and the only relevant experience that I have is through my practicum. I have about 1000 hours of social service experience, but my GPA in my senior level courses is a 91.
  25. I am with you! I hope we can hear back in early March
