  1. This is my second time being waitlisted for this program. Last year I received an email in May saying that I was put on the extended waitlist which lasted until the end of July in case people drop the program before school starts. I know a couple of people who have gotten off the waitlist, but I don't think it's the easiest thing. Im from phoenix and ASU is my #1 choice so I hope thats not true lol wishing good luck to the both of us and hope that we hear something from them soon!

Wow, that's super early! But I totally get you. I had to re-read my e-mail from NAU to check if it was a mistake as well.

I have also just received my first acceptance from NAU yesterday, 1/30. I was surprised because I submitted my application last minute, 1/13.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt like it was a mistake when I heard back from NAU yesterday lol this is my third time applying and this is the earliest I have ever heard back from any school!

  3. Hi! I am also still waiting to hear from ASU. This is my second year applying and this time last year was when I got an email saying I was apart of the "alternate pool", but was rejected a week later. I was really hoping they would send something by today or tomorrow. This is the last place I am waiting on  so it is getting really stressful not hearing anything back from them. As of right now my portal still says in review.

I have a friend that applied there last year and literally never heard back from them. One would think if we are spending money on their application we should at least get a response.

Yeah I didn't hear I was denied until the beginning of April last year. It is annoying though because the last thing I got from them was an email asking about my residency and then nothing. They least they could do is send some kind of update.

I haven't even gotten got much out of them! Literally not a peep!  But maybe cause I applied for the full-time track? I saw most acceptances were sent out Mid- February

I went to NAU for my undergrad and this is exactly how it was last year. I know some people that heard of their acceptance late march. They are really bad at communicating what's going on  lol

I am kind of thinking that everyone that was not accepted was put on the waitlist and that the waitlist will be narrowed down and rejections will be sent out via postal service. I could be wrong, but I know several people (at least six) on the waitlist, including myself and the email that was sent out stated on 2/28 stated:

" All those applicants not receiving offer letters will be notified by email only (from our department, not the graduate school) that they have been placed on a wait list. Within the next couple weeks, the wait list will be shortened. Those denial letters will be sent by mail only. "

To me, this is kind of send a sense of false hope to all those that weren't accepted. BUT at the same time, it is not a rejection yet! It seems like they have picked their top candidates then plan to go through once again to shorten the wait list.

I was waitlisted for Idaho state this year and last year. With the waitlist last year I was on it until the middle of July when I received a letter in the mail saying I was denied. Hope this helps!

I’m a little late to get on here, but this is my first year applying and the wait is killing me!

Which programs are you applying to?

University of Oregon, Portland State, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, University of Montana, University of Wyoming, Northern Arizona, Midwestern (Glendale), University of Colorado - Boulder, and University of Northern Colorado. !10 schools

    Where are you from?

Montana, but lived in Colorado for the last year and a half

What are your biggest concerns about applications?

Probably my biggest concern is letters of recommendation. Most schools require two letters be from CSD professors and I took those classes online post-bacc so i think those letters will be pretty generic. My cumulative GPA is about a 3.78 but my CSD GPA is 4.0 and GRE V154 Q153 W4.0 so not stellar but not terrible either.

I interviewed at Midwestern last week and Eastern Washington this weekend! Just praying for good news soon. It’s been great reading everyone’s experiences.

We applied to a lot of the same schools! I'm hoping we start hearing back within the next couple weeks or so! At least Idaho we may know something by Friday! Good luck to you!!

  8. Hello! I have also seen that people are getting paper letters in the mail! I am from AZ and have not received anything in the mail or via email yet. This is my second time applying to NAU and I know last year they sent out denials via email at the beginning of April. I think the waitlist was sent out in March if I am remembering correctly! Hopefully this helps! Don't panic its still pretty early on!
