I was accepted to the 2-year Clinical stream at U of C with a GPA of about 3.6. I have quite a bit of experience (I completed my undergrad in Political Science in 2007) but it's fairly non-traditional social services experience. I served as a reserve police officer for six years and currently work as a workplace violence specialist for a public health authority in BC (Vancouver Coastal Health). I have a lot of facilitation experience as a large part of my current role is teaching courses to healthcare workers. I also have some experience in program development and I have one publication, though it is not peer-reviewed. I really had no idea if my application would be successful or even competitive so I was very surprised to receive an offer of admission. Hope this is helpful and good luck!!

Congratulations! I got an acceptance email for the 2-year program at Calgary this morning too. It would be great to set up a Facebook group or something so people can connect with each other in advance.

Hi all! Any other University of Calgary applicants out there? I'm currently living in Vancouver and only applied to Calgary for the course-based Foundation MSW. Is anyone else obsessively checking their email and their application status online? Any idea when decisions might start coming out?
