  1. That actually makes sense. You are right. Yes, i am visiting both of them next week. Thank you !!!!!!!
  2. Thanks Alexg! You are right in the sense that if i want an industry job, i dont have to be constrained to indianan, i can always look elsewhere.
  3. Thank you! I think in terms of location, Austin definitely beats bloomington. I'm justing trying to find a right balance of everything. but i guess no program is perfect.. Visting both of them next week and i think i might just have to go with the gut feeling...
  4. THANKS!What about the industry placement? I mean Austin is just a great place, lots of companies
  5. Hello Guys, I need some insight. Which one should I choose? The operation management/decision science PhD in Kelley, or the STATISTICS Group at Risk Analysis and Decision Making Department at McCombs? If I can graduate successfully, my first option would be to go into academia and 95% of Kelley graduates become faculty. However, I am worried that in the worst case scenario (which I hope and think will not happen), that i dont finish my phd, then I will have to go into industry, then mccombs seems to be a better option, because it's very location in austin. Bloomington is pretty and all that, but indianna is hardly the most developed state in the country. I would appreciate any insight! THANK YOU! (And also operation research from UNC Chapel hill is still kinda on the table for consideration. ) I got rejected pretty much from all the statistics programs and i applied to business schools with no hope of getting in, but i got into both of the programs i applied to... maybe even the grad schools feel like I fit into business schools better?!

  8. Still havent heard back from OSU :(. One of the professors who wrote me the reference letter graduated from there just a few years ago.... Did two research with him
  9. I agree with Bayesian1701. Just too big. It's good in the sense that you do have more options in terms of what you do. But Im worried that you might have to fight a big for opportunities?! i dont know. still waiting to hear back from some schools. best of luck everyone
  10. Got one offer from ncsu so far and rejections just keep coming a long. six so far and I three other schools have sent out offers on Friday... it is so frsutrated to receive all those rejections.... (ps. I am applying for statistics phds, international student, undergrad in a small US liberal arts college). Anyone thinking about joining NCSU? I was really upset that they don't let international students to join their department visit day due to tax complications!
