Advanced standing candidates that haven’t heard back yet! PSA! They just told me my application is in the final review stages. I applied 12/2 (officially 12/8). Anyone apply before that and hear the same thing? Also sending good vibes to those who applied after me. Yours should be getting to those final stages soon!!!

Yeah I already committed to Rutgers because thats where I wanted to go from the beginning and they also let me know 2 weeks after I sent in my application that I was admitted. Columbia turned me off by their application process and I was really happy I found this forum/website to see how other people were handling it. I am a little annoyed because I want to know what they are basing their acceptance/waitlist people off of. I thought I was a strong applicant and one of my references actually works at a mental health center that Columbia uses for fieldwork so she knows people at Columbia. Not saying this would definitely get me in and I didn't know this until after she sent her letter in, but I thought it could help. Columbia only needs you to get back to them if you want to be put on the waitlist and they will notify you in April if you are accepted which is insane and a little late in the game. I might email to thank them but tell them I committed elsewhere so they can give someone else a spot who wants it.

This thread has been very helpful to me in my application process to Columbia's SW program! I thought I'd try and be of any type of help to this thread as well. I submitted my application on 11/30/17, and I just found out about an hour ago that I was accepted into their 2-year traditional program and I applied to their SEA concentration. They've given me 30 days from today to respond with a decision. I will admit I was nervous for a while considering I submitted my application a long time ago. Hopefully you all hear a response soon.

I seriously hope *everyone* who applied at the priority deadline hears back this week!

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement! It's like I feel I can move forward but at the same time I feel like I'm still at square one; still in limbo! I think they just threw that at me because I gave them a date and they just needed to get something to me. It can't be a coincidence that they gave me something today. But anyway, thanks for letting me vent on here the past few weeks! It's been very therapeutic to talk with people going through the same thing! I'm still debating if I'm going to join the waitlist but I'm definitely going to commit to penn. 

It's probably for the best. Columbia was my dream but if I'm being honest, I got very good vibes from UPenn. My gut is telling me that's the place to be and I think I'm going to follow it.

You sound like a dope applicant. No matter where you end up I'm sure you'll do excellent work. I also applied to the policy track, but advanced standing. I applied on 2/13 and am already dying of anxiety. Any advanced standing folks hear anything??

Do you mind if I ask when you applied? We've been trying to figure out their decision process and if they gave out all acceptances for now. And congrats on NYU!

I have been looking at this forum for a while and just heard back! I got waitlisted! I’m still in undergrad now at UConn and my gpa is 3.4. Congratulations on everyone who got in!    I got into NYU so that’s definitely my top choice now. Good luck to everyone still waiting so hear back! 

I wouldn't say it's a lost cause! Because at this point I don't think anyone knows where their heads are at. And we haven't heard from any rejections so we can't compare our stats to theirs and get an idea. It could go either way at this point.

Hey give it another shot when you're in a better place. They are pretty cool with you taking a break or needing to do other stuff. 

Reading the stats from everyone who got in definitely has me in panic mode. I see why I've been waiting so long?
