I also want to pursue the macro track. Like you, I want to create change within the current systems and policies and I hope to do that through advocacy work in a nonprofit. I hope everything works out with your green card. I don't think you'll be able to apply for FASFA without a green card, but hopefully schools will give you nice financial packages. Unfortunately only citizens are eligible for government financial aid.

Hi! Have you ever thought about a year of post graduate service? I'm currently in one right now, because I didn't know what I wanted to do with my degree and I was also burnt out. It's really a great opportunity to get experience in something your interested in, save money and help the community you work with. There are many program options. Other people are still waiting on a decision from Columbia right? I've heard back from NYU and Fordham, so I'm just waiting to hear back from Columbia.
