Just received email notice from SAIC FVNMA following an email I sent to a grad coordinator yesterday. The faculty member notifying me of my admission was one of the two who interviewed me, and she responded to my follow up email. I then received a phone call from Sculpture at SAIC confirming my admission offer that I received in the mail yesterday. So as long as I can sort out money I’m off to SAIC - gonna probably take the film offer - but wanted to update folks on notifications for those departments.

It depends on if the film department makes an offer, honestly. But I’m intending to land at SAIC, either in Sculpture, Film, or the Low Residency, depending on how money all breaks down.

I just received my notice from SAIC via usps today, which honestly is just baffling. I went and interviewed for both sculpture and film, and very clearly make films (and am interested in sculpture), all of the items in my portfolio were video, sourced from my Vimeo page.... but ive been admitted to the sculpture department all the same! Waiting on FVNMA to let me know about what they think.... nuts because I nailed the film interview, got faculty affirmation of that, and felt I bombed the sculpture interview. Hope sculpture folks get their notices pronto - I’m chicago based so it may have come quicker than it might to others, and I never received a phone call.

I have this theory that those grad packets we received were supposed to be offers. Otherwise SAIC is on some weird trolling shit sending us adverts the same week were waiting for results.

Hi! First time logging in and posting here, but I had this happen to me as well! I applied/interviewed at SAIC for film/video, had a solid interview, felt very good leaving (I had a faculty member look me in the eye and say “to be continued” in a knowing way), and was waiting for something to be sent sometime last week. Thursday I saw the package and was like holy shit this must be it, but it was an advert mailer for the programs I’d already applied to. I emailed them, and will check back in if I hear back but I definitely got that as well. Some info I got on interview day that others might be interested in re SAIC.... i also interviewed for sculpture and was told by the dean of grad studies that the film department had essentially made their decisions on 2/17, and that sculpture would be having a meeting on 2/19 and 2/20 to determine who they wanted to admit. Don’t know about other depts, obviously photo and some of the other departments have been quick to get their word out, but figured I’d chime in for once
