Oh was It? I'm lost with schools have spring break at different times. Well then maybe there is hope for next week! Keep up with the meditation!
-
Big hugs. Deep breaths.
-
I doubt we will hear much bc of spring break. Think we are looking at mid-april. I know that if you were accepted to Fordham, they will extend the time you have to accept. I spoke with the Dean of admissions.
-
I thought that but emailed admissions and they said my app was complete and under review. Don't worry
-
I was accepted to Fordham too. I’m actually studying there as a non-matric on the MSW course right now. It’s a really nice school, with flexible class times. I am waiting on other schools before I make my decision. Tbh they all sound great so it’s tough!

Thank you for posting this, super helpful and congrats on being accepted!

I applied for the residency. I was contacted by admissions and advised that I needed to send them proof of my visa status (I’m from the UK) plus a course by course evaluation of my undergrad (obtained in the UK). I’m waiting on the evaluation. I only just contacted my old school today so I’m really nervous that I messsed up/missed out. Any other international students here?
-
Out of curiosity, did anyone apply as an international student?
-
Sorry to hear of some rejections today. I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason though and that you will all go on to do amazing things and touch many lives along the way regardless of which institution you attend.

Did anyone apply as an international student?

Does anyone know if Columbia Offers a study abroad program? I know that Fordham and NYU does. For me Fordham is attractive because of the London study abroad option. I'm from London so it's be awesome to go back there to study.
-
I'm interested to know also
-
That's what I thought! Awesome! I've still not heard anything. Getting a bit anxious now :/
-
Congrats!!!! Question - have you calculated how much it is going to cost you with the reduced residency scholarship? When I calculated it, it looked as though it was coming out close to Hunter costs...
-
I got an email at the start of the week saying my application was being reviewed and I applied 2/15 but for the Reduced residency route. Hopefully, you will hear back soon given they got to my application now... but who knows how their system works.
-
The same way you apply for the regular 2 year. You just need to be employed by an agency that takes Columbia interns.
-
Hi Jono I was just wondering what made you chose to attend Columbia over other schools?
-
Yeah I really like Fordham. I wish I could attend on 14th but I'm in Austin, Texas all week for SXSW. Hunter is hugely competative because of the price. I don't think you have any problems getting a place there given you got into all the other schools. I didn't apply for the Hunter scholarship, literally just submitted the application. Good luck though! I feel like the longer I work as a direct service provider the more I want to change about systems and policies. I'll probably end up on a macro track. Green card is out of my hands. I just heard I might be able to matriculate part-time on my h1b! Although I don't think I can apply for financial aid without the green card.

Hi! That's amazing that you got into all those schools! Congrats! What agency/organization are you working for? I applied to the same schools as you, I got accepted to Fordham. I'm already taking classes there as a non-matric. and I really like it there. I haven't actually submitted for Hunter and NYU yet. Hunter is crazy hard to get into but I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us. My concentration is disability/MH, I'm so torn between clinical and macro practice! Right now I'm more nervous about my green card situation! Thanks for your message
-
Thank you for doing that. Ok I will sit tight!
-
Is anyone here on a visa? I am on an H1B and STILL waiting for my green card. It makes be V.nervous that I may have to defer my studies if I do not the adjustment of status in time. Anyone else in this situation?
-
That's good to hear! I can't afford to do this any other way, so I have applied to do this at 4 schools. thanks for responding
-
The person below explained it correctly. I work for a non-profit in a social work role and the deal is that my agency would provide a work placement for me in return for a big fee reduction. I really couldn't do it any other way. thanks for responding.

Hey all Has anyone else applied for work-study/residency? I submitted my application on Feb 15th and am still waiting to hear. Submitting to NYU and Hunter this week.
