Good luck to the rest of us without results yet! Let's hope we all hear back tomorrow!! I have a question about referees for applying next cycle (just in case I'm unsuccessful). Since I will be starting a PhD program in the fall and hoping to apply for SSHRC again in the fall (if my application is not successful), should one of my referees be someone in the PhD program? My referees this cycle were my MA thesis co-supervisors. Should I ask them again this fall? I don't think anyone in the PhD program will know me well enough to be able to write me a strong enough letter for SSHRC, especially if I have to start the program remotely. The program is in the US and the semester is a quarter system, so classes run from October to December. I think the SSHRC app deadline for direct applicants is in October. Does anyone have any insight into this or know I resource I can consult?

Also a direct applicant and I think I'm committee 2. Have log in info since Wed, no results yet. If I remember correctly, I think there's been a couple of people in our committee who are direct applicants as well and got awarded SSHRC. I'm really not sure if they uploaded successful results first or what their order is, but I'm hoping it's random at this point so we still have a chance.

Thanks! Just sucks that they're doing it in waves (if that's what they're doing). I wrongly assumed that having everything online would allow for consistent and timely results. I feel like I'm the only direct applicant without official results yet. Have my log in info, but no documents available... I'm preparing to be rejected, especially since it seems like a majority of the direct applicants who have heard back have been awarded SSHRC. My negative mind is telling me that I haven't heard back because I've been rejected. I'm a direct applicant pre-doctoral, going to start the first year of my PhD this fall in the US.

Direct applicant here. I received my log in info yesterday, but still haven't received an email to check results and when I log in, there are no documents available. I don't really know what "order" (if any) SSHRC is sending our log in info, acceptances, rejections, etc. I hope they give me the news today, I don't think I can take another day of feeling this anxious.

I received an email from SSHRC to set up access to the Extranet portal thing. My last name begins with "R" and I am a direct applicant. I really hope I get it, but if not, I'll try again next year. I'll be bummed out, but I got in to my dream PhD program, so getting SSHRC will be a bonus right now.

Thanks! Do you know if we'll hear from SSHRC if we do make it to the national competition or if we don't hear, we assume we made it, and then wait until April/May? Do we only hear now if it's bad news?

I'm also waiting to hear back from UConn. Nothing from them yet. I've had interviews with Chicago and Maryland so far. Does anyone know what the chances of admission are for Chicago if we got an interview? Good luck to you all!
