  1. Argument Two years ago, radio station WCQP in Rockville decided to increase the number of call-in advice programs that it broadcast; since that time, its share of the radio audience in the Rockville listening area has increased significantly. Given WCQP's recent success with call-in advice programming, and citing a nationwide survey indicating that many radio listeners are quite interested in such programs, the station manager of KICK in Medway recommends that KICK include more call-in advice programs in an attempt to gain a larger audience share in its listening area. Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation. My response starts from here: There are two different radio stations in different regions, two years ago by increasing the call-in programs in one radio station the number of audiance increased, it dose not mean that the same increase in the audiance will happen to the other station. Success of WCQP by increasing the call-in advice programs can not ensure us that another radio station KICK could gain similar success by including call-in programs if we consider certain other facts that effect the ammount of audiance. The WCQP and KICK are two differnet radio stations, their theme could be different, one could be news station other could be entairtainment station. So, every station has it’s own requirments furthermore, both of these stations are in different areas, and people living in these areas could have different taste. Now on the base of this assumption that WCQP gaied audiance by including the call-in advice programs we can never be sure that KICK would also get the same gain of audiance. However, by mentioning that the needs of both the radio stations are same, they are of same nature and have similar audiance the very assumption can become valid. There is a also difference of time, WCQP increased the number of call-in advice programs two years ago it is quite possible that the trend has been changed and now people like to have scheduled programs rather than varying call-in advise programs. So, this asumption falls apart in this way. We cannot rely on the nation wide survey results, as this survey could not be specific about the call-in advice programs. Moreover it is not mentioned that the survey was performed recently or it was performed some decades back. Things change and so the trends of people. That’s why backing up this argument by this survey do not make this assumption valid but if it is mentioned that the survey was performed recently and that this survey was sepecifically related to the call-in advise programs than the above argument becomes valid. Two stations are different and are in differnet regions so the sucess story of one station can never ensure the sucess of another station.
