  1. Awarded a Bombardier CGS with a score of 15.3/20. First time applying as an incoming doctoral student beginning in the fall of 2018. I have 1 publication (lead author), 6 conference presentations, 4 of which were international conferences. I Received a CGS-M in 2016 as a MSC student but as I have read that may have little impact on being awarded a CGS at the doctoral level. When I had originally applied I had no idea where or what doctoral program I would be attending and listed what at that time was my number 1. Is anyone familiar with the process by which I should be starting to activate or inform the school/program I will be starting at in the fall 2018? And to all those waiting, it seems that everyone here is more than qualified to received one of these awards. I made it a priority to focus my application around the themes SSHRC had identified in 2017 as areas of interest and then relate them to my research interests. Everyone has other scholarships, we all have good grades, and solid letters of reference. The only thing I can think of is maybe trying to relate your "Program of Study" portion of the application back to that. Best of luck to everyone in their studies. PS is anyone taking a CGS of Doctoral Fellowship to Waterloo?
  2. Just found out it is the Bombardier CGS over 36 months.
  3. The Grad Office at The University of Winnipeg just notified me that my application was successful, but didn't specify between the Bombardier Scholarship or Doctoral Fellowship. I am still finishing my Master's and will be starting my PhD at Waterloo in the fall. Is anyone familiar with the steps that need to be taken in order to have the award paid through a different university than the one that I applied through?
  4. I'm at Univ. of Winnipeg. I had emailed my grad studies office, and it doesn't appear like they are in a rush to get back to me with any information. Still nothing in the mailbox. I would expect something around Thursday.
  5. The foreign supplement now shows up for me when I log-on in the Masters/Doctoral link provided in one of the comments. I don't think there is any merit to this now as it didn't show up when I had been signing in for grants/ etc. So for everyone panicking, make sure you are signing into the right portal!
  6. This is thread was fun and informative up until this point. Now its just dangerous haha. I'm going to find a dark hole to crawl into until the letters come.
  7. As much as this seems like a logical idea, I looked at the threads of previous years and this was never mentioned as a way of circumventing the mail process and using it as an early indicator. I am also saying this because I do not see the Michael Smith Foreign Supplement on my profile, so I may be biased haha. Another question I ask... my proposal is focused on research in Canada, and in my application I did not fill out the "Joint or Special Initiative" section which an applicant would do if they are pursuing the Michael Smith Foreign Supplement. Is everyone who is seeing this on their profile now pursuing research that would take them outside of Canada? Or at the very least filled out this section of the application?
