  1. Yeah, I was waitlisted there. Just waiting out the waitlists, I guess.
  2. Nope. In my interview, I was told we would find out in the next two weeks...and tomorrow is two weeks from my interview.
  3. Hey does the person who posted a Penn acceptance mind sharing who it came from?
  4. Honestly, with the collapsing job market incentivizing more people to apply only to top tier programs and top tier programs cutting their cohort sizes, I really wish Harvard's grad school would reconsider its three lifetime application limit.
  5. Has anyone heard from Northwestern?
  6. I agree with this idea! I think letting these two different topics occur in a single thread can create unnecessary hostility and brings forth the potential for toxicity.
  7. Also, I am interviewing with Notre Dame and was wondering if anyone had advice about the department and their interview process?
  8. Well, congrats on wherever you were admitted! and hopefully many of us hear good news from Michigan!
  9. Congrats to the Michigan admit!
  10. I know this is random, but I just want to say congrats to everyone receiving acceptances so far and solidarity with everyone still in limbo and nervous about rejection
  11. My answer to My answer is pretty much a "no clue." I heard from one person It might be a sign we are basically in and from another person that the last 10 minutes of their interview were in a non-english language (but they were not applying as a Latin Americanist or as an Americanist) so really I have no clue.
  12. I will mention I'm still in shock
  13. I posted the Penn interview.
  14. Likewise, I also have an interview coming up and if anyone has any advice, I would deeply appreciate it!
  15. Is anyone here the listed Yale Interview? If so and you're willing to share, what did they say?
  16. I @timurdidnothingwrongI would say check out the faculty in the religious studies department...see their interests, and if you think they have people who fit with your work better, consider doing that.
  17. Is anyone else starting to get worried that with Omicron, universities might suddenly decide not to admit?
  18. Is it me or has this been much less active than in previous years? Update: I realized I was wrong
  19. Honestly, a hard thing about applying this cycle for me has been figuring out which field to apply in at each program. My project straddles the U.S. field, Latin America...and when programs have it World/International/Global/comparative and the exact fit has differed between programs.
  20. Thanks for this, I will do it. My feedback from two of the programs I got rejected from (which I didn't ask for, by the way..I simply emailed POI's to thank them for the time they had taken to email me) was my application was competitive at Princeton and I made it to the top tier of applicants at Notre Dame.) My interest is specifically how the reorientation of American politics in the 20th century towards the Sunbelt influenced foreign relations and specifically with Latin America (it's a bit of a combo between domestic political/urban history and Foreign relations.)
  21. I've decided to accept my admission into Villanova's MA program
  22. @historygeek Congratulations on the funding? Did you get the tuition scholarship or the Graduate assistantship? I got the tuition scholarship, which is not bad at all.
  23. Really wondering whether Harvard has sent out waitlists already
