I feel that! Also kinda bummed ab Maryland/Northeastern (even tho app status says they haven’t been reviewed…idk). Silent rejections almost hurt worse, they feel like a huge blow to your confidence even though it’s technically not a rejection.  Good luck on your interview!

ND is really the only thing I have going for me at this point besides the Illinois waitlist. I am pretty disappointed to see the Maryland interviews and acceptances going out; out of all the schools I applied to, it was the program I was most confident about fit-wise. I'd met and talked with faculty a few times, there were good connections between them and my MA program, and it just seemed the most likely spot for me. Oh well. Still ~5 programs left. Up to me to nail the ND interview.

Same here with Penn. Maybe they just had a power outage right as they were sending my interview request.

Got waitlisted by UIUC!! Excited because it is my first decision and I feel like I still have a chance.

Congrats!! I was just checking here after seeing the notifications from Emory and Notre Dame and am happy to see someone here got through. 

I also DID end up making a spreadsheet…it seems like the earliest I could hear back would be next week. Of course, it doesn’t stop me from logging on here.

Got some good news today: I’m a finalist at Notre Dame and invited to their recruitment event in Feb. Feels good to get some positive movement so early! 
 
I’m not sure how I will handle things if I get invited to multiple in-person interviews/events though. Personal days don’t really grow on trees at a public HS…

huzzah, congratulations!! It’s fun to watch movement finally happening on the results board. 

And it would be nice to have that problem, I bet, but it would certainly still be a problem. I only have three personal days left this year.

ha! I saw that too when I submitted my application and whispered, "I'll be an exception" but perhaps it is what it is, would be weird for the school to exclusively select MA students from their programs, so I still have faith in us

Fair point. I teach middle school and I'm probably underestimating how distracted I'll be once classes are in session again (starting tomorrow for us).

I teach in HS now so I am not going to have time to worry after this weekend ...

For English Lit do you mean English Literature PhD programs? If so, yeah! I applied to 7, got everything done before winter break.

Any other 2024 English lit. applicants out there? I was waiting for someone else to start a thread but I guess I'll do the honors. I've applied to 11/12 of my programs at this point, going to finish the last app. in the next couple of days.
