    Also not really at the time! I submitted the MA app. and despite what she said, the tuition remission offered was only 33%, lol, so it DOES feel more like a bait-and-switch.

    I was accepted off the waitlist for the funded MA at Virginia Tech and accepted :-). I’m kinda bummed I didn’t get into a doctoral program, but I think ultimately it’s what’s best for me right now and will be good experience (I also didn’t realize how uncommon it was to get into an English PhD program w/o the masters, but thinking back on it, it makes sense). Congrats to everyone else on their programs!!!

    Received an email from Northeastern saying that “while I wasn’t admitted into the PhD program, I was rated highly by faculty and could be offered a significant amount, if not complete, tuition assistance with an acceptance into the masters program.” I’m not sure if she’s bluffing with how much aid they can provide, because most of the Northeastern masters acceptances I’ve seen in the past have seemed to max out at 33% tuition assistance, but we’ll see. I’m still at the top of the waitlist at my undergrad institution for their funded MA program…feels bad to be in limbo, even if the email from Northeastern was still flattering albeit disappointing.

    Haven’t heard from UPenn, USC, UC Santa Barbara, Syracuse, or NEU… trying to be patient and optimistic, but assuming the WL for the MA program is my best bet…

    Is it binding, like EA in undergrad? Or if you ended up getting in and changing your mind on programs, would the only thing you’d lose be the deposit? ND is still a really nice school, nothing to be upset about.

    You’ll grow older regardless. The only difference is you could be x age with an MA/PhD, or x age without them. Rooting for you!

    It is! I tried to post something a few days ago w a link from a statement from someone on an admissions committee but it didn’t go through. Because the FAFSA stuff and federal funding is delayed, admissions is also delayed because schools don’t know how much funding they’ll have. This would impact private AND public schools, as long as they get federal funding.

    Idk if anyone on here is active on Reddit, but I saw a post from someone on an Adcomm who said that funding is really screwed up and that pushed back a lot of results from being released. Something to keep in mind! The link to that post.

    No update from me either :,) It’s my top choice so I’m holding out hope, because it really doesn’t look like they normally interview and the website says it’s not required. I’m thinking the one person who posted their interview here was also the one accepted, but idk.

    Oh man, not even two hours after this I got rejected from Boston U. They were on the upper half in terms of schools I thought I was a good fit for, and I had been optimistic for a waitlist after seeing the rejections and acceptances come out earlier. I suppose the good comes with the bad.

    Received an email from the graduate coordinator for my aforementioned undergrad institution saying I’m in a top spot on the waitlist for the funded masters program. This is the first positive news I’ve received for a funded program, so I’m crossing my fingers!!

    Can anyone here claim that UPenn acceptance? I didn’t get an interview so assuming a rejection, but here’s to fruitless hoping :,)
