  1. So I sent email asking for specific decision date, and the director said that the adcom is still working on the apps and thus can't give set timeline for decision to be out. So I am guessing that the wait game is still here. I received the answer within 10 hours as I sent it like at 2AM PST (because I live in another country). Not a bad sign, as I was expecting something like "Oh we saw your app and you were instantly rejected'
  2. Interesting. It has been a few days after I heard official rejections from two programs and now radio silence. I do hope NYU just sends out official decisions, because I just want them to tell me that I am rejected so I don't have to wait any longer. Maybe it is a good time to relinquish all the remaining hope and prepare for my second round next year
  3. The anxiety is driving me crazy. How do you guys manage your nerves this time of the year?
  4. Translating the hell out of my native language into English so I can get some ca$h. It really helps me to get the anxiety out because I enjoy translating.
  5. This definitely helps. In terms of GRE(160V-158Q-4.5W) and GPA(3.36 because I received 2 Fs during my first and second year at undergrad) I am less than an average applicant, but I really hope my dedication to studying Religious Studies my junior and senior year + some grad school work help. I will just hope that people like me Everyone here is too great. I thank you all.
  6. This LITERALLY made my day Anyway, let's cross our fingers and hope for good luck. I wish you good luck for your results this year, so you don't need to go through this vicious cycle again.
  7. Thanks for this. Well, I mean I am just tired of waiting and it would be better to find out that I am flat out rejected soon than just keep on waiting. This is my first cycle, and so I am really frustrated over the whole process. Maybe I was too naive.
  8. Man, it stings to not hear anything from schools up to this point. It seems that Boston University has interview as well, so I guess if I did not receive any email for an interview, it means that I am out of it completely?
  9. Okay. Maybe it was a bad idea to ask when the decision would be out then. Oh well, time to let go of hope and count UCSB as implied rejection now.
  10. I haven't heard anything from them yet either. I was planning to sent email to the admissions office, as I see absolutely no reference on their website about approximately when the decision will come out. Thankfully I have shared some emails with them before and they are all well-intended, so I see no harm in there. I will let you know when I get the answer from the.
  11. From my research they send out Ph.D decisions around 23th of Feb, and for Masters its around March. I am only guessing it through the results page so I may not be entirely correct, but I am pretty sure that is how it works.
  12. Hello guys. I usually lurk at Anthropology section, but because I applied to Religious Studies programs to UC Santa Barbara and University of Chicago Divinity School, I thought I might as well join here. I believe decisions for Chicago Divinity School (at least for Ph.D) will be out sometime next week, as I studied the results section really hard. Anyone applied to UC Santa Barbara or Chicago Divinity School for Ph.D?
  13. Maybe it is because my area of interest and the required language are both my native language, so there was no need for me to study any other foreign language through FLAS? Anyway, I am just crossing my fingers so I get to go somewhere. It would be interesting if I get rejected from all Anthro programs and get accepted to Religious Studies program, because I majored Religious Studies for both my undergrad and grad school.
  14. I was rejected from Michigan and they never asked me to fill out forms for FLAS.
  15. Well, looks like my sense was definitely correct. I was kind of expecting it, but it sucks to find out the first result is rejection. UC San Diego was not my best fit, so it's understandable but it still stings
  16. Thank you very much. And no they have not responded to my email yet. This is especially disheartening, as I sense that something might have gone wrong. Oh well, I guess I gotta let it go.
  17. Just wondering, but for UC San Diego, did your application page say 'Under Review' until you received your decision? Also, when you did get to see your results, what did your Application Status say?
  18. Yep. I just did that because I am now really anxious and I have to sleep soon, as I live abroad and I must go to work tomorrow. Hopefully there is some good news when I wake up. Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it and I feel more hopeful.
  19. That makes me feel better. Thank you for the information. I will just wait patiently again before I get any news.
  20. Okay, apparently some rejection letters were sent to applicants for UC San Diego. I have not received anything from them even though I applied a month ahead of their deadline. Maybe this is a good sign, hmm?
  21. Seeing all the acceptance posts make me feel miserable, even though I am happy for those who got accepted. Maybe I just need to wait a little longer and be optimistic. Hoping for good news for all of you!
  22. Thanks for the kind words. I will try my best to relax as I just purchased new desktop, new keyboard and new headset. I am on five-day holiday from today, so I will try to ignore everything by diving into virtual world. Wish you luck too! Fingers crossed
  23. I see the results page is flooding with results right now. This really gets me worried. Hopefully the results are out next week? Anyone else thinks I should think this way?
  24. Not hearing anything back kinda sucks, especially when I submitted my applications right in the beginning of December. Almost two months of waiting and nothing from the schools yet... I wish I applied to more schools(7 total).
