  1. Maybe research CSUN certificate of Pre-SLP on the website it says: Students who satisfactorily complete the Pre-SLP program and meet the automatic entrance criteria are eligible for automatic admission into CSUN’s online Master of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences: Speech-Language Pathologyprogram. The masters program is 3.5 years and parttime. Depending on where you live you may be able to work as an SLPA during the grad school portion since you can get licensed with the prereqs and 100 hours
  2. In my experience, they want to make sure that you’re a good student so that they know you’ll do well in their program (and not fail or quit the program). If you do ask a professor, provide your resume and statement of intent so that they can include some of those details in the letter. I had letters from 2 professors (not that strong since they barely knew me) and 2 supervisors to be safe (very strong since they knew me and my work as an SLPA).
  3. Another factor is how fast you’d like to complete the degree. CSUN is 3.5 years while Emerson says it can be completed in as little as 20 months.
  4. I also received my acceptance today! And happy cried For those of you applying next year, I feel that CSUN looks at the overall picture. My undergrad gpa is 3.45 and my postgrad gpa is 4.0 My GRE: 153 verbal, 153 quant, 4.0 writing && Experience: 5+ years as an SLPA. Letters were from two supervisors (SLPs) and two professors
  5. I received the email and I do not live in California nor did I graduate from CSUs. I do have a graduate certificate from one of the CSUs. My GPA and GRE scores are average as well.
