  1. If anyone has applications that are missing transcripts but are hesitant to email grad admissions, don’t hesitate to bug them (in a friendly manner). I’d been missing both my official transcripts for a program despite sending one 2 months ago by email and another by mail 3 weeks ago so I decided to email the graduate admissions and after a day they responded back saying that they had both transcripts and would update my checklist within 24 hours. I think sometimes they just need a little friendly nudge to get everything uploaded.
  2. This is the first time I actually have to answer unknown calls. I so rarely get calls from unknowns that aren't telemarketers that I usually just don't answer. Seriously hope I don't accidentally not answer a call from admissions
  3. I had to do this too for one of my schools. I finally emailed the school to see why they haven't been getting my transcript. They have my community college one but unfortunately not the one from my current institution.
  4. Right? So much daydreaming about getting even an interview, much less an acceptance.
  5. All but one of my applications are submitted (last one Dec. 5th deadline getting submitted tomorrow)! Then done with finals on Monday...no idea what I'm going to do while waiting for interviews/rejections ?...
  6. I totally get you on that! I feel like I haven’t seen anyone else on here going for clinical health psych/ pediatric programs this year. Maybe if no one else applies your chances of getting in will be upped (of course I wouldn’t consider this forum to be an overly representative sample of everyone applying)!
  7. That sounds like you have a ton of really good research experience, and all of those publications will definitely help you out! As long as you have really good recommenders and solid personal statements and fit I think you might have a pretty decent shot. Which schools are you applying to for clinical and neuropsych?
  8. For those of you who are applying while still in undergrad: anyone else submitting a bunch of Dec 1st deadline applications in the middle of dead week (e.g. the week before finals)? All but one of my 12 apps are due on the 1st and I’ve been trying to balance submitting all of them, 3 final papers, and trying to practice for presenting my honors thesis all this week. Definitely adds to the stress levels, that’s for sure! ?
  9. Hi all! I only just discovered GradCafe; looks like I’m a little late to the party! I am applying to 14 Clinical Psychology programs (13 PhD, 1 Masters in Canada) that have specializations in pediatric and/or child psychology. Specifically, I am applying to programs with faculty researching chronic pain and/or chronic illnesses. In no particular order, the schools I am applying to are: University of Florida, Loyola University Chicago, Boston University, University of Alabama Birmingham, DePaul University, Drexel University, University of Cincinnati, Ohio University, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Mississippi, University of Nebraska, Oklahoma State University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and University of Calgary (Masters). My GRE scores are definitely lower than I would like (152Q, 159V, 4.5AW) but I am hoping that my letters of recommendation, GPA (3.82), personal statement, research experience, and fit will outweigh my GRE scores. I have been working part-time in a pediatric chronic pain psychology research lab at a top-tier academic medical center for the past year-and-a-half through an NIH-funded grant/scholarship and am about to finish my undergraduate honors thesis through this same lab (Presenting next week!). I am second author on 1 manuscript (currently undergoing review), 2 abstracts, and first author on 2 abstracts and 3 poster presentations (one to be presented in Spring). I have one application submitted, and the rest I just need to finalize documents for! I wish you all the best of luck with your applications.
