  1. Hello! I am currently waiting to hear back from Western and Mac, but being a 2019, first-time application I have no idea what is considered a good versus bad GPA. My subGPA as calculated by ORPAS is 3.62 (ugh). I have over 200 hours of direct observation and hands-on work, plus approx. 400 hours of work as a TA. I am confident my clinical reference will be great, same with my academic references. Based on your acceptance class....what do you guys think my chances of gaining admission are...?
  2. I was wondering the same...has anyone heard from Western yet?? I still haven’t received any email indicating I can access their student portal or anything like that. I’ve only received McMaster (I’m only applying to Western and Mac though)

  4. So thanks to ORPAS scale my subGPA is not as high as originally intended...only a 3.62. Now I have no idea what my chances are of getting in (even with 200+ direct observation and hands-on experience hours, and with great references). Only applying to Western and Mac. Trying hard to keep the faith but this is sooooo hard. Not knowing what my chances are SUCKS.
  5. Hey @peachy_speechie ! Is your current subGPA 3.68 after retaking courses or was that your original subGPA for the first time you applied? I'm asking because my subGPA is around the same and then I have around 300 volunteer hours as well as 500 TA hours, but I'm SO incredibly nervous that I won't stand out from the applicant pool. If you wouldn't mind sharing your initial stats from the first time you applied I would greatly appreciate it!
  6. Oh awesome!! So last year, if you were anywhere in between there with good references etc, seems like you had a shot! Fingers crossed its similar for this year!
  7. Hey guys! I'm applying to SLP for my first time but have been dreaming about this moment since I was 10!!! I'm applying to McMaster and Western and I have a subGPA of 3.74 and an overall GPA of 3.58! I have approx. 250 SLP volunteer hours and I have worked as a TA for two years. I don't have any research experience but I know my clinical and academic references will be very strong. I'm hoping my letter of intent will help me stand out from the crowd too! Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the acceptance averages for the 2018 cohort? Good luck everyone!
