  1. the neurobiology is through the bio phd program, so its just a different track that allows you into other labs rather than strictly neuroscience!
  2. No problem! I heard from someone else on here that the dates are feb 25-27
  3. From what I suspect UPenn is done I didnt get an official rejection, but considering they sent out two rounds of invites before christmas and since their interviews are in January its likely they're done... but there is still time to hear from other schools so don't lose hope!
  4. Anyone know if scripps or UCLA are sending out another round?
  5. BU should be sending out in late Jan, I currently work here and heard through the grapevine
  6. Email! I don’t know if it was a mass batch or not, but because they said in the previous email they will be deliberating for a few weeks and since their interview dates are pretty late, they could be sending out more
  7. Just a heads up MIT started sending out their official invites!
  8. I didn't reach out to them, just mentioned them in my application! but my current PI wrote one of my LOR and he got his PhD there I don't know how much weight that pulled but they probably recognized him
  9. I got an email from 2 POIs informing me of my invitation but I have yet to receive an official email with the details.. so im assuming they just haven't sent them out yet and will after break
  10. When i was talking to a PI there about which programs to apply I was trying to choose between BMS and Bio- I ended up applying to bio and neuro. This is what he said about BMS-neuro track, it may be helpful but it depends on your interests and future goals! "I suggest Bio over BMS as it offers a more direct path to neuro labs and you will be part of a larger neuro-student community. BMS has the neuro/disease track but it is sparsely populated. In Bio the neuro track is solid. That and Neurosciences feed the neuro labs with grad students (~50/50). BMS students are more rare but they are around (~10%). That program offers different advantages, so it's all about your goals."
  11. Oh lol I didn’t know that, one of them says the LJ campus so maybe that’s the one for all 3 but hopefully they’re going to send out more
  12. No I haven’t heard yet! In the results sections does it say which program?
  13. You still have plenty of time to hear from other schools! I work in the BU neuro dept and I know they won’t be sending out invites til mid-late January, don’t lose hope
  14. Congrats! And that’s good to know, thank you!
  15. I will and you too! Haha thanks I hope that is the case, fingers crossed!
  16. I emailed JHU admissions to try and figure that out but no response... ?
  17. Did anyone here hear back from UCLA today? Do you guys think they will be sending more?
  18. That is so interesting! I currently work in a lab that studies sensorimotor processing in the neocortex during complex learning and memory tasks and we use optogenetics to silence specific regions to hopefully perturb behavioral output. I think I will try and stay along this path of research in graduate school, but like you, I am definitely going to remain open-minded because there are so many areas of neuroscience that explore these sort of questions using different techniques and models.
  19. looks like they started sending out interviews from the results page and the dates are feb 3-4
  20. Only information I could find on their website is that they are conducted in February, no specific dates though ?
  21. I am interested in circuit neuroscience but from a cellular and molecular perspective. specifically interested in how changes in molecular expression (in disease and/or development) alter neural communication and signaling and how these changes translate to neurological, neurodegenerative, and behavioral disorders Going into school, I am planning on keeping an open mind
  22. Yeah definitely not weird! When I was beginning my application I was emailing a POI and he was advising me on which programs to apply to based on my interests and gave me the pros and cons to them which was super helpful, so if you're conflicted I would ask!
  23. I’m hoping they still are! Based on the results page it looks like they sent them over 2 days. Fingers crossed
  24. Thank you! And no they didn't unfortunately ?
