I heard from a PI i know there that the BMS program has flexibility in that you can join a neuro lab through the joint program. It's totally up to you whether you want a neuro-only track or the option to do both! Both are great choices!!

I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s because there will most likely be conflicts with interviews so they want to keep their candidate pool open until after the deadlines to commit to interviews

I think it means they are still reviewing applicants? I got emails from POIs informing me of my interview invitiation and that the committee has already met but I have not received my official letter so I think they are planning on sending out the official letters altogether, meaning they may not have made all of their final choices? So I don’t think they are waiting until people accept interviews since the official letters haven’t been sent

Does anyone know if UCSD is still sending out invites? Or was it a mass batch?

gotcha, i think the one person who put on the results page from "the division of biological sciences" meant the BMS program since there arent any other biology invites posted, phew.

Is this the same as the Biology PhD program or the BMS program? there seems to be 3 types of bio programs for ucsd in the results page lol

What are the interview dates for Scripps? I haven't been able to find them anywhere

I haven't heard anything yet.. but they did say in the email they would send invites "~18-20" so fingers crossed

I looked at the BBS results page because I applied there also and someone commented that they emailed admissions and that admissions told them 'all invitations had been sent' so im assuming its similar for PiN pretty bummed

That's a good point. I think im just holding out hope because i worked in two labs there in undergrad so it would be cool if they came through for me but who knows. I also applied to the BBS program as well and I dont think they have sent anything yet.. so fingers crossed!

Yeah based on previous years it looks like most schools extend invites all the way through the middle of january, I think it's because there are obviously going to be conflicting interviews for some people so they can't attend. so if you didn't hear back, don't lose hope! you may be on a waitlist you don't know about, im in the same boat

Just got an interview with MIT (bcs)!!! I got an email from a POI and they said official emails will come out soon! Dates are March 7-8. Pretty stoked

Got a Berkeley invitation while on the airplane!! Very excited. There are two interview sessions feb 10-12 or feb 24-26

Hi Everyone ! I check this forum all the time so I figured I might as well post! I applied to 11 schools... Harvard (PiN/BBS), Johns Hopkins (neuro), Stanford (neuro), UPenn (neuro), USCD (neuro/bio), UCLA (neuro), UC Berk (neuro), MIT (brain & cog), Scripps (neuro), Northwestern (neuro) and BU (neuro)! I know UPenn sent out their first round of invites so hopefully they will send out another!
