  1. That's very helpful! Thanks so much How long was the letter you wrote for your professor? I wonder how long mine should be. I didn't know it was okay to ask the professor if there's anything she would suggest mentioning in the letter, but that might be a good idea.
  2. Hi all, I was asked to write a recommendation letter for my MA advisor. It's for her promotion from an associate to a full professor. I know this is a very critical stage in her career so I want to do my best. I've only known her for a few months so I don't have a lot to say, but I'll write whatever I can based on what I know/have experienced. I was wondering whether anyone has any tips?? Not sure where to start. Thank you!!
  3. My POI, who's in developmental psych, emailed me on Jan 6th and invited me to an interview weekend on Feb 14-16. I don't know if this is for all areas of psych though.
  4. Thanks for the update. Do you know if all departments sent invitations (social, developmental, cognitive, etc.) or just specific ones?
  5. HD usually sends their interview invitations mid-January. I saw on the results page that someone was contacted by their Cornell HD PI today. Could that person please share their PI name/initials in a PM?
  6. In past years Stanford sent their interview invites mid-January (at least for developmental psych)
  7. I don't have past experience with this but my intuition would be to book your own place if that'll make you feel more comfortable and allow you to sleep well. There are other opportunities to interact with grad students and it's always better to interact with them and with your POI when you're not tired and grumpy
  8. Hi all! I have some questions for people who applied to Yale: 1. Which psych department did you apply to? 2. Were you contacted about an interview? 3. If you got an interview, were you contacted by the department/POI? Thanks!!
  9. Hi! I was told to pick 3-4 people (including POI) who I'd like to interview with during my time there. I think it's a separate interview with each professor.
  10. Hi, yes I applied to NYU's cognition & perception program and was invited to an interview (POI e-mailed me on Dec 16th). If you heard from most of the other programs that's a really good sign. NYU is the only one I got an interview from so far. Good luck!
  11. Hi everyone, For whoever's interested - I got an interview to NYU (Cognition & Perception with a developmental focus) on Dec 16. My POI sent me the e-mail about it. I was wondering whether anyone here applied to Yale's developmental program and received anything?
