  1. The admissions packet (which is mailed, not emailed) shows a calendar of admissions-related events, and one of them is decisions released Feb. 4th. Others are eg visit days, deadlines for sending external funding info, and so on.
  2. Got the admissions packet and it confirms first-year funding, which will renew given good grades and research progress. Should be about $3505 per month, plus tuition and health insurance. Also states that all acceptances were sent out on Feb. 4th.
  3. @Applicant_F19 Accepted via email but awaiting financial information and the official admissions packet they mentioned.
  4. As far as I’m aware, there wasn’t an option to “apply” for funding. As with most US CS PhDs, I would expect funding to be guaranteed automatically and renewed on an annual basis.
  5. @Applicant_F19 You make it sound like it’s possible to be admitted without funding. Is that really a thing?
  6. Anyone know what the funding offer is going to be like? Wondering if it’s competitive with Berkeley EECS.
  7. A professor at one of my schools (a top-10 program in the field) reached out to me to schedule an interview about 10 days ago. I responded with some times that would work for me, but didn't get a reply. After all of those times had passed, I sent another email listing my availability for the following week. Still no reply. This interview seems to be part of the official process at the school, so I'm relatively confident that I won't be accepted without interviewing. Should I annoy this professor some more (or reach out to admissions), or just give up at this point?
  8. I’m applying to several PhD programs and was recently accepted (with funding) to a school in the UK. They’ve told me the deadline to accept the scholarship is a date in mid Feb. Since the other programs I’m applying to are in the US, i won’t have decisions back until after interview weekends in Feb/March. How should I handle this situation? Should I ask for a later deadline from UK school, or should I let other programs know I have an exploding offer? The UK school is one of my top choices, but what’s probably my #1 pick has interview weekend in March.
  9. Hi all! Got the invite to interview weekend for MIT's Brain and Cognitive Sciences department a couple days ago, and it looks like several others did too. Do we know anything about the % of interviewed applicants who are accepted?
