I was really counting on the department finding out first So... was keeping an eye on my email. Last year I was told by my department more than a week before I got my letter. Maybe longer. It was a significant gap anyway.

Now thats not funny!! May 12th I don't have that much time to procrastinate on my writing. Ack. Need to stop checking this site,,,but I can't seem to do it. Its kind of a conspiritorial feeling to know others are out there lurking and doing the same...

Let me know if anyone gets a call... err I mean email...
  21. Oh ya and I think it is hilarious that they put the number of a retired guy in the notices as a contact for finding out one's rank!! Tricky tricky.
  22. I don't think you should feel bad. Its mostly a math equation. My status says that my application was reviewed by a panel of 3 independent people and then it sounds like they gave the applications a ranking and then those rankings were crunched into winners according to the order in which they came out based on how many yeses they got . Then yeses are handed out until the money runs out. Oh and they said there are different categories so I need someone in my category to not accept in order to move up the line. So if this is true --which I don't really know for sure as I am reading in between the lines --then it just depends on who is on the panel and what their thinking is on what is important for the future and who they think might be able to do the work that they are proposing. And different people are going to think very different things. good luck
