Hey, Concordia interviews were back in Jan! The faculty have submitted their choices to the department and official offers should go out early March. That's all I know!

Thanks! I had a good conversation with the POI back in October, she even helped me submit a research proposal with her project for funding and I find it quite disappointing that she never contacted me after that for an official interview.... And I am also quite surprised that I interviewed with 2 profs at McGill, yet nobody cared for my application at Concordia? ?

Ugh me too. My POI said she recommended me for admission but I’d only know officially within a couple of weeks. Well... it’s been a couple of weeks so I’m ready ?

Same here haha I left my POI's office floating on cloud 9 after he said he would recommend me for admission and every day since I have been losing a bit of the pep I had in my step ? wishing you best of luck! hope you hear back soon cause this wait is pure agony

  3. Hey guys,

I want to congratulate everyone who has received an acceptance, it's an amazing achievement. And to everyone who is still waiting, keep the hope up guys and keep in mind that just to be in the run for clinical psych, means you are already the creme de la creme ?

Speaking of waiting does anyone have news from Concordia? I only applied in Quebec and it has been super quiet over here... Thank you in advance!

Same. Starting to think I should have applied to more than 4 schools and not applied to the whacko competitive ones hahahahahaah ???

I was thinking the same thing! Why did I suddenly have such an overblown, misguided self-esteem around application time? When I applied I was thinking "Yeah, I got this! " and I applied to some of the most competitive programs. Now I literally stare for minutes on end at my email feeling soooooo small and insignificant and lost haha

  5. Guys, I feel that it doesn’t make sense to have such ridiculously tiny admissions quotas for clinical psych. It’s not a niche domain, there is a strong need for psychologists in Canada, there is a foreseen labour shortage for psychologists in the next 10 years, so what’s the deal? I come from Europe and in most countries, basically if you want to be a psychologist, it’s not that tough to get in, so I was very surprised to see how different things are in North America. Can you guys explain why this situation here?

Agreed about it easing minds, I've written off 2 schools so far (Dal and Concordia) because it sounds like the interview days have already happened, but it'd be nice to know officially if that's the case.

I did emphasize in my replies back that it wasn't a reflection of my interest in the program, just an unfortunate scheduling issue - hopefully it won't be a factor in deciding acceptances. The guides I posted above suggested that POIs do understand this happens, like you said :)

Ahh, so Concordia really is out... stings a bit. Ok, stings a lot but trying to be brave.
