  1. Given funding is rather similar, def go for the brand. Stanford.
  2. Everything will be out by end of first week April for priority applicants according to them
  3. Still waiting for MA higher education. They said there is a slight chance decisions can be first week April. Most likely at end of this week though.
  4. Anyone else apply for higher ed? Decisions come out latest by end of next week for priority applicants they said.
  5. Different programs have different decision dates. For mine, they told me it can easily be end of month. And I have the same message don’t think it means anything.
  6. You definitely deserve a spot in the class. I can identify with you, as I also had superior stats compared to others both academically and professionally. But they refused to overlook that one mistake from undergrad (top 3 in country in rankings too). Nothing else is a possibility. They are only “holistic” to a degree.
  7. Anyone hear back from Master of Arts in Higher & Postsecondary Education? I was a priority applicant and still haven’t gotten anything.
  8. Perhaps my startup came across as too profit focused, although that was never my intention. I mentioned that we did quite a large amount in revenue for 2018.
  9. It was either higher education or educational policy management. I’m quite surprised with the rejection actually. Do they think they will tell us what went “wrong” so we address those concerns for next year? I’m not giving up.
  10. Rejected as well. Guess they don’t like entrepreneurs after all.
  11. Someone who is currently in the US maybe give them a call? I’m out of the country.
  12. Anyone else apply for Higher Ed? Also, good luck everyone.
  13. Definitely hope so. Founding a Ed startup and having an MBA from a top school are my 2 main selling points.
  14. Good. Any additional insights on how they perceive education related entrepreneurs? You mentioned that is your profile. Thanks.
  15. Yea that would be great. Thanks.
  16. Is this “late March” part new or had it been there previous years? I’m guessing the first option off the top of my head. Hope someone can confirm.
  17. The master handbook on HGSE’s website. If you want to take the optimistic approach, then we are pretty unique. Otherwise, one can argue that the program is not friendly towards entrepreneurs. No clear conclusion. The beauty of statistics.
  18. What I don’t know is if our startup/corporate profile is commonplace to many applicants, or if we are more or less unique?
  19. My startup is in educational consulting, focusing on college admissions. We initially started off targeting only the ultra luxury market, but then it was unfulfilling. My partner’s main goal is profit while mine is to penetrate the lower end of the market and provide a service that everyone should have access to. So, I wanted to use the Master’s in Higher Education program as a platform to get into policy making or admin. Wanted to do something more meaningful for society. Hope that came across in my personal statement.
  20. Same situation as me. Coming from the startup scene with an MBA.
  21. Thanks for the reply. Is it also true that programs such as higher education are more competitive due to its smaller class size, or can that be attributed to small number of total applicants to that specific program?
  22. How competitive do you guys the masters in education programs are to get into? I was hearing about 50% acceptance rate.
