i don't know much about colorado state, but i would say the connections you can make in DC, depending on what you want to do, may outweigh the overall cost. for instance, there are a ton of organizations that work globally in DC, and while I am swimming in debt from GW (holler PSLF program), overall it was worth it for the connections i made.

has anyone received an acceptance/offer letter from berkeley? admitted students day is next monday...

They reached out to me, but I don't think it means anything if you haven't heard from anyone!

I spoke with a POI yesterday. They said that they are going to admit me, and I should receive an offer letter in the next few days, which I am assuming means no later than early next week. So hopefully everyone will know soon!

Ditto - I received an email from the EMD director on Monday, saying the official letter would arrive next week!

Not yet! I’ve been compulsively checking all day. I did receive some good but slightly cryptic feedback from someone I interviewed with yesterday so I’m dying to get the official notice!!

Yes I will probably take an approach similar to @apex45 since I'm meeting with people similar to my research interests (both ones I mentioned/spoke with before and ones I didn't mention). I can't decide whether to be nervous or not. I know they want to make sure we are the right fit and serious, etc. but the top of my agenda says "Yale Recruitment Day" so I am assuming they want us to go there? Thoughts?

@apex45 @Epidemiology19 Yes I finally got mine too - it’s gonna be quite the day! Excited to meet some of the faculty they paired me up with.

Spoke with someone at BU - likely rejected if not invited to interview day. Only 4 spots for 250 applicants (epi). So, congrats to those invited!

Anyone know how Johns Hopkins (epi) review process works? I’ve been seeing acceptances, interviews and rejections trickling in on the results page but haven’t heard anything yet. So nerve wracking!

I haven't heard from BU epi phd either

I was contacted by the head of the ID epi program for an interview in early January, said I would hear back by late January/early February.
