  1. Is there anyone else in this forum who also had an interview for UC Santa Cruz (except the one on the result page)?
  2. I would say most programs do interviews, especially those prestige ones (Harvard, Chicago, Stanford, UCB, etc.) - but it depends on the department admission policy. Some schools don’t do interviews (maybe UCLA?), some are like half-half (Santa Cruz). But if you have seen an interview post here on the result page and you still haven’t heard anything from your programs, then most likely it is going to be rejections.
  3. Hi, if anyone gets notified of admission decision from UC Santa Cruz and UCLA, could you kindly reply to this post? This is my second round of application and it seems that I have failed again. I had interview with Berkeley last year but sadly didn’t get in. For this year, I apply to six programs and I am now 100% sure that I am rejected by four of them (since they have sent out interview invitations...). Santa Cruz and UCLA are my last hope - I heard from graduate students at SC that the department also admits students without interviews and it seems that UCLA does not do interviews. I feel like I am drowning right now - can’t breathe, losing goals, and find the whole idea of trying so hard to stay in academia meaningless... Really need to make my backup plan B - maybe trying to find a job, whatever it is. So, if you have heard from these two, please let me know, it would be hugely helpful! Thanks.
  4. I take the sociocultural track. Do you have interview with them?
  5. Thanks for the information! I also applied to UCSC - no interview, so I guess my rejection is on the way... Hope you make it.
  6. Hi, cograts on the interview. Have you heard anything back ever since the interview? Heard from graduate students at Santa Cruz that the department all admits students without interviews... Have no idea what is this year’s policy.
  7. I was interviewed by Berkeley last year but sadly didn’t get in. Based on my last year’s experience, they sent out interview invitations in two days - mine was received at 12:40 a.m. pst, so 9:40 p.m. est. Don’t want to say this, but if you still haven’t heard anything from them, it may be a bad news... Hope this helps.
  8. Wondering if anyone has heard from UCLA OR knows if they do interviews... Checked posts in previous years - there are only offers and rejections, no interview post. Really nervous at this moment - haven’t heard anything from all the applied programs, guess rejections are on the way... Anyone?
  9. I haven't heard from NYU and I guess it will be a rejection. Two people have been admitted (one bio, one cultural) on the result page and there is also one waitlist. Hate to be so negative, but if one still has not heard anything, it is highly posssible it will be a rejection (which is the case for all the other programs that I have been rejected ?)
  10. Based on last year's result, it seems that Yale does have an interview round... So, I guess everyone who is accepted gets interviewed?
  11. Has anyone else been interviewed by Yale except the one on result page? Losing hope now...
  12. Same here. Just curious, did you choose their anthro MA program as your second choice (cause that's what I did....) Maybe they are sending out results by rounds OR maybe we are on the wl? No idea at all ...
  13. Does anyone know what is happening at Yale? No offer, no rejection, no interview, no words... I can only find one "interview" applicant in the result page, which is really weird. It seems that interview invitations were sent out around late January last year. Get rejected by 4, 2 other rejections are coming, only 3 left (Yale, Cornell and NYU). Although I have 3 master offers, which is better than nothing, still hoping to get a Phd offer...
