  1. Here is a press release with more details in case it's helpful. https://news.virginia.edu/content/uva-plans-new-school-data-science-120-million-gift-largest-university-history
  2. They're both excellent programs - and both are located in wonderful, dynamic towns. I don't know about the specifics of the program at UT Austin, but I'm not sure if you know that UVA was just given a $120 million donation to expand their Data Science program to be even more competitive and robust than it already is. With matching funds, it'll be a $200 million investment in total. The MSDS program engages students and faculty from a variety of schools and centers across the school. It's very well respected already, and -- with this new funding and exciting sense of momentum - I am sure its already outstanding reputation will continue to climb. You have 2 great choices! Best wishes.
  3. Congrats! I was admitted, too. What would you all say is the greatest strength of this program relative to other data science programs?
  4. @nyan_cat Thanks! I think Columbia's classes are at night for the same reasons...
  5. @nyan_cat - how much bigger is NYU than previous years? Where do you see that it was 150? I was admitted, but my concerns are: high cost of living for housing, that the classes seem to be mostly at night (is this more a program for working professionals?) and the large size of the cohort.
  6. Are the classes at NYU Data science primarily offered at night? Do most students work during the day?
  7. Re: NYU. No mention of scholarships or funding for me
