I didn't apply to CUNY but I learnt from a phd student there that they have only four spots this year. It takes some time to make final decisions as applicants are all very strong.

Does anyone know anything about Yale? I know some people were interviewed several weeks ago while I heard nothing from them. Does it mean I should expect a rejection letter?

In Shanghai. Students of the program will spend their first year in NYC and then go back to Shanghai for conducting research - this is what I learnt from the page of the sociology department

Just received an email from Notre Dame saying I was divided into their "hold" pool - does anyone know anything about the pool, like how many people are in it, is there still any chance of being accepted, etc.?

Hi! I claim the interview for NYU Shanghai and I'm sorry for stressing you out. As far as I know, NYU doesn't conduct interviews for PhD admission (according to my poi at NYU Shanghai). They're independent in recruiting students.

Same. Feel even worse when I checked 2020 results and found that UCLA didn't accept any international student (I'm an international student)

Hi guys, I am working for the Fall 2021 cycle and I am worrying about my GRE score (164 for verbal, 161 for quantitative, and 4.0 for analytical writing). Is 4.0 a bad score for top 20 Phd programs (like Chicago and UCLA)? Actually I have taken GRE twice and the first time score is 157V/162Q/4.5AW. Is this score a better one? Should I simply retake GRE in a week to see if I'm lucky enough to get a higher analytical writing score? I would appreciate any suggestion you guys have.
