Gotcha! It actually worked fine, but just felt a bit like I was filling in a form for the departmental pizza party lol

I agree with this. The application was super wonky. For example, I kept getting errors when trying to save my proposal section and had to call sysplus and it took them forever to figure out that the title of the BAA was longer than permitted, even though the box allowed me to fill in that much and the error didn't note that that was the problem. Also the GPA thing where A+ counts as a 4.0? My gpa was above 4.0 and so now there is a discrepancy between my transcripts and application. I applied last year too and it was managed by a different company and they actually used f*kkn surveymonkey for the application lol.

Did you ever reach out/hear back? I have the same situation.
  7. E/E G/G E/E Not awarded, no honorable mention. A bit frustrated at the G/G reviews, since the reviewer mentioned some things were 'missing' from my experimental plan (mainly pitfalls/plan B's), but I included those and were highlighted by another reviewer. This reviewer also docked me for not including a specific outreach plan in my research plan, but I outlined one in my personal statement and included details about the societal relevance for broader impacts of my research in my research proposal. The other notes the reviewer had were fair though, and overall happy about my results. I was worried I was going to get dragged through the dirt lol
  8. https://ndsegfellowships.smapply.org/prog/ I think everyone's account was probably updated so log in here and it should tell you your status
  9. I didn't get it. Congrats to the awardees!
  10. I just end up on the portal that does not say specifically for 2019 with no update? Are we getting trolled lol
  11. I think some applications in that field got rejected without review, but that happened way earlier (probably too disease-focused or something). So if your application wasn't returned without review, it is being considered and you should still have a shot.
  12. Cool, we are in similar fields! Did you apply under environmental engineering or bioengineering (or biosciences?). I couldn't decide but went with environmental engineering, although I probably should have done interdisciplinary between bio and environmental engineering. What school will you be attending? I've been working on a lab focused on microbial community engineering for biological nutrient removal and carbon recovery (I work on nitrogen removal currently). My proposal was about creating metabolic models for a halophilic (salt-loving) microbe and using these models for the construction of a synthetic halophilic microbial ecology for the conversion of organic waste (food waste in the project, because our lab already works with that) to value-added chemicals (succinic acid in the project) in a non-sterile, seawater-based bioprocess.
  13. They said in the application confirmation that rejections are sent out after 'award acceptance' (probably indeed waiting for people to decline before more offers are sent out). It also seems like last year the results sort of trickled in over a week or so. I think probably the top candidates got their offers already and the rest of us have to wait longer to hear back.
