I'm a first year coming into UW MSW program. They basically sent out a questionare asking us if we prefer online classes or in person classes to get a feel for what the demand is so that they can try and accomodate everyone. (for instance they have two in person classes for 155, but the questionare showed that more students wanted to do it online, they would use that info to adjust the class style) They told us that most likely they are aiming at two classes being online, two in person and also giving students the choice to be online completely if they choose ( this includes field placement.) I know a few who are going to do fall completely online and stay home and most likely move mid-fall for winter quarter since they emphasized that Fall is guaranteed online if we wanted it but Winter not so much. They will go back in person for all classes AS SOON as they hear its safe to do so.

Does anyone know if fall will be online or in person? They have stated that they really want to do in person, but given everything that is happening, there could be a possiblity for online classes in the Fall. I wonder when they will let us know. Anyone else have a clue?

I emailed them on May 16th and on May 18th they emailed me back saying," I'm sorry you have not received an update on your waitlisted application. You can expect to receive an update in the next several days. Thank you for your patience." I have moved on too. Extremely disappointed that we STILL have not heard anything from them. It just feels like it's dragged on way too much and I hate that they give a false deadline. I just wish there was more communication.

I have a question, I was offered admission, but still have not received my financial aid package and I was only given a week to confirm. I am also still waiting on a few other schools and I feel like week is way to little time to weigh all my options. Is there anyway I can ask for an extension? Has anyone been successful in this? Any tips on how to word it?

I just got an email that I got in!!!

I seriously cannot believe it. First we were told that they would give us a response no later than April 19th, then it was extended to May 15th. The email literally says, "We hope to give you a decision soon, and our plan is to have all decisions no later than May 15." I don't know what to expect. Will they extend it again? Did you ever hear back?

For those doing the day program, they just announced the closure of CSU schools for fall and shifting all towards online learning. How is everyone feeling about this? Do you know if they will give an option to defer because of this?

They just emailed me back saying that they are held up b/c they extended their deadline and that they hope to get all decisions out by May 15th.

Ya'll I am so upset at Columbia.... I was put on the waitlist on March 21st and was told that the admissions office will convey a final determination regarding my admission status by no later than April 19th. It's April 21st and I still have no response. I already reached out to them via email and it does not help that they KEEP sending FB invites for their live videos. URGHHH

How did you get your acceptance? Was it through email? Did they mail an acceptance letter? or posted on the portal? Also could you tell us your qualifications like someone else asked? I'm so excited to start hearing. Thank you for updating us!

Hi I can confirm that my portal said "pending interview" for WEEKS as well. I also have not received an email about it nor has the school contacted me for an interview. Idk what to think. Are they even going to reach out? They must be lagging a lot rn due to everything going on.

Thank you for replying! I think I'll do that. And also thank you for trying to appeal their package. I was going to do the same, but heard responses from others that UWashington is very stingy with aid. Someone who goes there rn told me that, " The school is charging everyone full tuition and fees even though facilities are all closed. The support within the school is also really hard to navigate."

Did anyone accept there scholarship money? I got an email that the deadline was April 15th but that they know things are crazy and just wanted to know if I was going to accept it or not. I haven't even decided if I am going to attend b/c I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools. What should I do??
