  1. Anybody going to U of T for their MPH in epi want to start up a group chat or something?
  2. Aha wait I just realized: I got 162V and 170Q, not that it makes any difference though tbh xd The GPA was all of my 3rd and 4th year credits at the time since they look at your last 5.0 senior credits (3rd and 4th year courses). If they included 1st and 2nd year courses, it probably would've been higher. Just a note, if you don't have enough senior credits to fill up the 5.0 they'll take it from a 1st or 2nd year course (provided you only have to fill like 1 or 2). I think NovaTerra gave pretty good advice about the letter of intent. Address any shortcomings in your academic life and how you tackled them, talk about key experiences in your CV (preferably oriented towards epi or stats, determinants of health, data analysis, etc.). For my references, I used my undergrad research project supervisor and a prof who's taught 3 of my senior classes (class sizes were small so we've interacted quite a bit). Haha I don't have a linkedin unfortunately ? Although, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to make one soon.
  3. Sure! Around a 3.9 GPA in a BSc at Western, various extracurriculars (your typical undergrad exec stuff - VP of 3 clubs to be exact), 2 publications (not first author), 0 presentations, 0 "real-life" public health experience. Did research for about 2 years looking at relevant stuff though (determinants of health and chronic disease epidemiology). Additionally, I also submitted GRE results (around 132 V and 140 Q I think) but they really don't take that into consideration so I wouldn't worry too much about writing it unless you're planning to go to the US. Let me know if you have any other questions
  4. Yeah! Hope to see you guys in September too!
  5. Just got into U of T's MPH in Epi!
  6. Ah well that's slightly frustrating but yeah thanks for the update lol I suppose another 2 weeks is nothing compared to how long we've been waiting already
  7. Well that's just kind of confusing. I wonder why there's a lower number of applicants when they didn't even require the GRE this year. I assumed that was the limiting factor. Did your prof tell you when in April? Pretty sure I have to accept/reject another offer by the end of the first week ?
  8. They notified me through email first and then sent me the official offer through the portal! Currently doing an undergrad degree in epidemiology and biostatistics GPA: 3.9, A- in 3 statistics courses Research assistant for 2.5 years mostly analyzing health data using Stata and SAS, 3 publications (not first author though), involved with 3 clubs as an exec I didn't really have any practical experience but had enough epidemiology/public health research experience to balance that out I guess. Also doing an undergrad thesis so that probably helped as well
  9. Just got an acceptance letter to Queen's MPH! Most likely declining though
  10. Haha nah Western's still doing acceptances don't worry
  11. Which MSc programs have you applied to? I got accepted to Western about a month ago.
  12. Anybody want to share stats about U of T's mph in epi or just talk about it in general?
  13. Hey guys! Does anyone know how U of T does their calculations for their epidemiology MPH calculations? Their website says "At least a mid-B average in final year of the degree or in the last 5.0 full course equivalents completed at a senior level" so are they only looking at the last 5.0 senior credits? I've also heard they look at your 2-year gpa? Which one is it? Thanks!
