Ah okay, from looking at posts on the results page from past years, it doesn't seem like there's a set date when people hear back from the cognitive program. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help, but good luck!

For Northwestern, did you apply to their Personality, Development, and Health program or their Human Development and Social Policy program? I applied to the latter and from looking at last year's posts on the results page, they don't send out formal interview invites until late January, around 1/29.

Thank you! I just go back and forth between being excited to being terrified and this waiting isn't doing me any favors lol. I think it's definitely important to remind myself why I applied in the first place, especially during times like this. I never thought this process would be so draining, but I just keep trying to remind myself that once I get through it, I'm that much closer to getting the necessary training to start my career.

I don't know if it's because I'm having kind of a blah day or what, but I'm starting to second-guess my decision to apply to programs this year. There are days when I feel somewhat confident in my ability to succeed in grad school and other days like today when I think, "Am I even ready for this? Can I even do it? Why would anyone even want me in their program?" Anyone else feeling this way lol?

At this point, I'm afraid to know the answer, but I'm sure I'll find out next week!

Out of all the places a telemarketer could have called me from, they chose a city where one of my schools is located. Why? Because the universe obviously hates me lol. I was okay with the waiting process in the beginning, but then when POIs started reaching out to me, it made everything more real. It's worse because I know we should be hearing back from some of our programs soon and the wait is killing me!

When your phone rings and you see that the caller ID says "Ithaca, NY" so your heart begins to race because you think Cornell is calling you, but it's really just a telemarketer ?. I know it's early January, but can someone please just take me out of my misery?

For anyone who applied to U-Michigan, the developmental psych faculty will be sending out formal interview invites within the next week or so!

I just got an email from my top choice POI of all the programs I applied to about having an informal phone interview and I swear I almost passed out when I saw her name pop up in my inbox! I know it's only an informal interview, but I'm shocked I even got this far lol.

Thank you so much! I think it went pretty well. I was excited up until I started counting down the minutes for her to call me and then I got really nervous, but it ended up being more of a conversation than an actual interview.

I think I will be having my first informal phone interview tomorrow, but I'm not sure. I received an email this morning from one of my POIs asking to chat with me tomorrow to learn more about my research interests and fit with their program, does this count? I was so surprised when their name popped up in my inbox because I didn't email them before I applied to ask whether they were taking students since I already knew they were, so I wasn't used to seeing their name lol.

I applied to UC Davis, but for their Human Development program. I assume you applied for Developmental Psych? I hope you hear back soon!

When one of your POIs finally knows you exist and emails you to ask if you can send them a writing sample! It's nice to hear back from someone at one of my schools because while most applicants have been getting emails or phone calls for interviews, I've been here twiddling my thumbs lol.
