anyone have any insight on how much the "Writing Sample" matters? I didn't do a college thesis, so this part won't be the strongest part of my application...

I am applying to a school that says 500-1,000 words for the SOP. These instructions are not specific to the clinical psych program, but rather the whole graduate school. With that said, I am wondering what you guys think about having a SOP that is 1,200 words...

I know a lot of schools that say the statement of purpose should be "about 1,000 words" or "approximately 1,000 words".... Does anyone have any insight on how "strict" this is? I am at about 1,090 right now and I am not sure how much time I should spend into cutting it down....

Does anyone know if John Jay clinical psych / Hunter clinical health psych programs have a word limit for their SOPs?

I was interested in applying to John Jay clinical psych and Hunter clinical-health psych.... Do you think that is allowed?

Hi everyone, I was planning on applying to John Jay CUNY Clinical Psych program AND Hunter College Clinical-Health Psych, however I just saw a note saying, "Students are not permitted to apply to more than one program within the CUNY Psychology doctoral programs." Does anyone have any intel on this? ? Pretty bummed!

Hi guys, I am trying to decide whether or not to retake the General GRE...Most of the schools I am applying to have a Mean score of 158 Q and 160 V. I got a 158 Q, 162 V, 5.5 AWA, however, my Quant percentile is 67th %. I have noticed a couple schools (i.e. Fordham - one of my choices) explicitly state that having any sections below 75th percentile may hurt your admission chances. ? thoughts?

Any tips on studying for the Psych Subject GRE? I bought the Kaplan book and have heard mixed reviews. I was thinking of going through my undergrad psych notes, but they are pretty dense, and I don't want to over-study material that isn't relevant. I found a quizlet set with just about 175 "Important Names" in psychology - that seems like A LOT of people to study.... Anyways, just wanted to hear about everyone's experience with the subject test! I am taking it in September

Does anyone know of any fully funded Psy.D programs? Also, does anyone know if Teachers College Columbia clinical psych or Yeshiva clinical health psych programs are fully funded / provide stipends?
