Hi team! First, thank you all for this thread - it's been so nice to feel in community a bit with you all in this process!

I'm wondering if anyone has heard from Boston University, NYU (I know someone got a waitlist notice but has anyone gotten an acceptance/rejection? I interviewed first week of Feb and have heard nothing since), Rutgers or UConn?

I've heard back from Boston College, Maryland, and UPenn but radio silence from the other schools ?

I emailed the coordinator at Rutgers, they are sending out results starting this week. Seems like we have a bunch of overlaps! Did you get any admissions yet?

  2. I’m graduating from UMB this coming May, feel free to shoot me a message:)

I’ve met many people with very diverse backgrounds in my cohort (pharmacist for 20+ years, phd in Sanskrit, etc), so I wouldn’t be too worried. Just make sure you justify why you want to pursue social work in your statement and give a lot of thoughts to the social issues that you are passionate about.

wait - don’t know why I’m replying to a 2020 post, anyway, the offer stands for anyone who wants to talk about the UMB program.

This round I'm applying to 2 SW doctoral programs. I just got my first acceptance from UW-M. Still waiting on UChicago. I'm also applying to Dis Studies at UIC and Psych at UPenn. If anyone else is applying at UW-M, I talked with the DGS of the SW PhD program. They're looking to get official rejections/acceptances out on Feb 9th and funding info on Feb 16th. UChicago will likely reach out to people closer to March re: funding and acceptances.

    Big congrats!!

  4. Hey! I just got accepted today but there's no information about scholarship whatsoever. Should I wait to accept the offer until I know more about the financial piece? I am set to go here though. I submitted on 2/5 and heard back today 4/7.

  5. Hi! I’ve been following this post for a while and since no one else has said anything I’d jump in and show some support! I am also applying.

I know UMich gives out application fee waivers for the MSW program at grad school fairs, not sure about the joint PhD program but it wouldn’t hurt to shoot an email and ask. They are also very helpful and responsive via email and are willing to put you in contact with their current PhD students. I think that should provide you with more info.

I’m also looking at the MSW/PhD program at UCBerkeley, but I’m international so I’m not attached to a certain location. Also it’s a top top program so it’s not a backup lol. Please let me know if you want to talk more and support each other :)
