I also got into UVA with the same package! I'm not sure about living in Charlottesville either. I was contacted yesterday by Yale for an interview, and Stanford for a campus visit/interview. I was also accepted to Cornell yesterday, which I'm very excited about! I wasn't expecting to hear so soon from any of them.

Anyone else get a slew of interview invites and notifications today?

You guys, I received an interview invite for Princeton! I’m over the moon, they’re flying me to campus for two days of meetings and introductions and all that jazz. Wish me luck!

@Red_Ranger I think @Jillybean06 mentioned earlier in the thread that they had received a rejection email, but I could be wrong

@aliceoutofwonderland Yes, I received it the 6th and they asked me to accept or decline the interview offer by the 10th.

@Red_Ranger No! I am an MPhil applicant in the MML department.

I heard back just before noon EST as well.

I also got the interview invite on Friday, October 6th! I actually received the email from Gates 10 minutes before I received the conditional offer email from my Cambridge department. I'll be interviewing with the Arts panel!

Hola a todos! How exciting! I've been waiting for a thread like this to pop up. I'm still in the application process... right now I have 9 PhD programs on my list, all in the US. I also have one application submitted already for an MPhil at Cambridge, but still waiting to hear 1. if I'll get in, and 2. if I'll get Gates funding. I'm applying straight out of undergrad, so I'm still in my senior year right now. I focus mostly on contemporary Iberian literature, though I'm also interested in doing some comparative work with contemporary Latin American literature as well. I'm drawn to themes of censorship, the body, flanerie and the city, and maps, to name a few. I've been working on my writing samples lately... all of my programs have different length requirements, which is sort of annoying! I'm working on expanding an 11-page piece to be closer to 17 pages. Wish me luck!! What research topics are you all interested in?
