  1. I got my undergrad at Columbia but had a lot of contact with MFAs. One painting MFA told me he had a full ride but also people will just BS about this. My understanding (purely from chatting with MFAs) is that printmaking gives more than 50% but the other disciplines don't give much more than 50%.
  2. wow. okay, this is good to know. that sounds so stressful, I hope they email you back soon. They should be working remotely as most schools have just moved remote but maybe they had to coordinate moving everyone out of their studios etc.
  3. They should be having more interviews as I think my friend's is tomorrow. I would email them.
  4. nevermind, i see that this question has been answered already.
  5. Anyone have any luck pushing administration to give you more financial support? What kind of stuff did you say?
  6. TY. I was also rejected but good to know
  7. Hunter just cancelled in-person interviews. Just in case anyone doesn't get the email. And also for those who are already elected to do skype ...we are all in the same boat now (which I think is more fair)
  8. Thanks, me too. hopefully waitlisted. It was my first year doing the MFA application game ...so went into expecting rejections. Hope you get the financial aid that you want.
  9. Thank you. me too. not super hopeful, as I emailed the co-chairs a thank you and they said I would be hearing back from the administration ? was it the administration who called you? Bard is my top choice. Good luck with Columbia. But big congrats on Bard. It seems like a lot of really amazing people interviewed this year.
  10. oh, wow. and you interviewed photo ? congrats!
  11. Hope your interview went well!
  12. Thank you! Good to know, I applied Photo. Maybe see you there. Congrats again.
  13. What discipline did you apply to for Bard? Congrats. I interviewed on Saturday and they told us that we wouldn't hear back until Friday.
  14. I live in Brooklyn, so I'm going to go up. You?
  15. I got an email that my application had been updated and then I checked the portal. The office is very friendly (which you may already know) so you can always call them to double check. But congrats on your acceptance and good luck with your others. I am also still waiting on UCLA
  16. I think it could be for all programs because the interview invite refers to all of the faculty committees. But of course there could be a difference for each program.
  17. I will also be interviewing with Bard photo. Good luck to both of us. I've heard that they accept between 3 people and 7 people.
  18. It was in the rejection letter. I wouldn't be too discouraged. I also had no idea that they included different comments ... I'm sure that MFA students at Yale have been rejected and then later accepted even without advisement to reapply.
  19. Just Painting. I think the other departments' decisions come out on Friday?? Or at least that is what my friend who applied in a different area said
  20. Also rejected for an interview but was encouraged by the faculty to reapply. Good luck to everyone!!
  21. Thanks so much! That is very helpful info.
  22. Thanks, helpful to hear another perspective. It definitely could just be my particular institution's bias against Yale. I know that it is all very political.
  23. I heard that many Hunter students feel that the program accepts too many students and as a result you do not get enough individual attention. Best of luck in your transfer @yungcoconut
  24. I've heard from faculty at my school that Yale's pedagogical model tends to be very top down. Especially in the photography department the reputation is that they prefer to destroy their students and then build them back up. Someone who was accepted into the photo department at Yale started working in drawings and they asked them to leave. I have heard that Yale painting has started to be better ...for example, they just hired Meleko Mokgosi who doesn't really work in a top-down pedagogical model (or so I've heard). The rumor is that many yale students graduate and it takes years for them to make work again after being so demoralized.
