  1. Recently received an offer from Texas Tech - clinical PhD (POI:SM). I am probably going to accept! If you were also extended an offer and are thinking of accepting it, PM me! I can't wait to meet my future colleagues

  3. Has anyone heard anything from Syracuse? I only have seen two posts on the results page. In regards to Teachers College's clinical program (I'm in a MA program there): only one professor, Dr. Cha, has set up prelim. phone calls - as far as I know. Interviews should be extended in the beginning of Feb.. next week I'm thinking. Just a heads up!
  4. Best ways to prepare for an in-person interview? I've just been reading my POI's pubs and the grad school catalog on the program's site.. anything else?
  5. Can any of the Utah state posters let me know your POI’s initials? Or let me know if yours is BB? I applied to her and had a great email conversation - I was sure I would get an interview.. haven’t heard anything.
  6. If the Utah State Clinical/Counseling poster from the results sees this, I would appreciate if you could DM me your POI initials! Thanks !
  7. just saw on the results page someone got an interview email today
  8. Just got a rejection email from UGA already!! The stress begins!!
  9. I also have a master's degree - getting a master's was my back up when I first applied for PhD's as well. I think it is important to take into consideration that there are a lot of applicants that will have master's degrees, that's a great point. Personally, getting a MA was a great choice for me. I ended up getting into a MA program at an Ivy League school - which I'm *hoping* will look good on my apps. I have gained so much experience - both clinical and research through my program that I know I could not have gotten if I wasn't in the program. HOWEVER - you can also gain a lot of great experience by getting a paid RA position if you can find one. I think either would be a good option!
  10. Is anyone here applying to East Tennessee State? I finished my app a while ago for them and have been waiting for my info to update on the app. page. Currently it shows all my LORs are in - but they don't have my GRE scores, Personal Statement, CV, transcripts.... All of which I submitted in my application... I tried emailing them on Monday but no one responded. Freaking out right now!!!
  11. Anyone else having problems with PSYCAS right now? It's not letting me log in! ugh!!
  12. What school was this if you don't mind me asking? My GRE scores are very low.
  13. Personally, my mother has OCD and that is what got me interested in psychology... however, I feel that mentioning this may be too much for the statement.. what do you think? I am worried if I mention something like this programs will think I am just searching for answers as you mentioned... I would plan on writing about it from a behavior perspective, as in I observed her behaviors, learned how to differentiate her symptoms and how to "comfort her"..
  14. Thank you for the advice! I'm thinking of adding something personal in the beginning.
  15. What are some opinions on how personal your personal statement should be..? I have gotten a lot of mixed advice - some professors have told me to have a personal story in the essay, some advise strongly against it. Currently, mine just describes key research and clinical experiences/what I've learned from them/my research interests and how they align with the program and POI.. Thoughts?
