    Hi Kevin and Greta,

Are you both PhD or MSc applicants? It appears to me that i am the only one who did not received any result yet. I applied for PhD Research Grant in Kiel University. Also, is Nathali Bursinski your DAAD contact person?

Congrats to both of you kababayan!

    Wilbert

    Hello Wilbert. Salamat!

I'm applying for a PhD program and my DAAD contact person is different.

I guess each scholarship scheme has their own timeline in rolling out the results.

    Stay positive!

I applied for the national visa on February 7. My language program will be in Berlin starting on April 1.

Yes, let's meet up there. Keep in touch.

Oh, everything seems so fast for you. Good luck and wish you all the best.

Do we have any FB group or something that we could connect?

    Hi Adeline,

Im not sure about that, try to contact the people that gave you recomendation letters, when DAAD sent me the first email asking me for registering in the Portal, they literally said:

Kindly note that all of the following documents have to be submitted as attachments in addition to the (blue) application form that you can download via the portal in order to complete your application:

    - DAAD (green) application form for research grants and study
    - Personally signed motivation letter with date of issue and statement regarding other applications (if applicable)
    - Personally signed full curriculum vitae with date of issue
    - Certified translation of university degree (bachelor)
    - Certified translation of university transcripts (an explanation of the grading system has to be attached, too)
    - Recent language certificates (English)
    - Two letters of recommendation by university professors and/or current or former   employers of current date, supplemented by signature, official letterhead, stamp

Wish you the best and I strongly recomend you to go for those letters!

    Carlos

Hello Carlos, got the same email but mine has a note that says:

'If your academic and professional letters of recommendation have been sent directly to University of Bonn, you do not need to upload them on the DAAD portal.'

I also applied for the EPOS program so I don't have a copy of my recommendation letters. The letters were confidential and directly sent by my previous professors to the university.

    hope this helps.

Hello Greta. I am Kevin. I saw here that you got accepted for the DAAD scholarship and that you are from the Philippines. Congratulations! I got accepted too under the DAAD Helmut Schmidt Program and I am Filipino too. May I know when does your language program start and if you have applied for a visa already?

Hello Kevin, congrats. Hope to hangout with you and other filipino scholars in Germany in the future. Have already scheduled for a visa appointment this June. Language class will start in Aug 3.

    How 'bout you?

Hi greta - just wondering if you know why they picked Dusseldorf?

Hello, possibly, it's because of the proximity of the city to Bonn. am not really sure about this. But based on last year's thread, language classes depend on the region of your university and scholarship program. Others even had their classes online.

    Hi Greta,

Thank you so much for your reply!

May I know which university are you going to?

    Again, thank you.

    Kind regards,

    Adeline

    Hello Adeline,

    No problem.

Got admitted in the BIGS-DR at the University of Bonn

    Hi first of all congratulations!

Oh we need to upload all of the document submitted to the university on the online portal? Oh dear, I've forgotten to make a copy of the documents that I've submitted, would that be a problem? I only have documents like resume, letter of motivation, certificates of degrees, employment letter, etc, but not documents like letters of recommendation, application form, etc.

Do you think that would pose a problem for me? Thank you

    Regards,

    Adeline

Hi Adeline. You will need to upload the soft copy of the requirements, except the recommendation letters from your supervisor/employers. Also, there's a green DAAD form that you need to fill out so i think you will be fine.

    Hello!

I'm interested to get in touch with those who have got the DAAD EPOS scholarship this year so that we can figure out certain things together. Is there a Facebook/WhatsApp group for this already? If not, would anyone be interested to join one?

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for the results!

    Thanks!

Hi, would like to connect. Will be attending language class in Dusseldorf this August.

    Hi Rawan,

I am from Peru and I applied to a MSc in TU Dresden, when they sent me the email for registering and uploading documents to the DAAD Portal, they said literally:

"If your online-application is complete and accepted by DAAD, your DAAD Letter of Award can be drafted and will be sent via the portal.
This procedure can take up to 20 days. Please also note that the DAAD portal will be the main instrument regarding the communication between you and your DAAD person in charge."

They sent me that email on Jan-30.

I hope this was useful, good luck!

    Carlos

hello Carlos. i've uploaded my documents on the daad portal in January 13 and received the letter of award in feb 5. i think the procedure depends on the daad contact person you're assigned to. probably, you will receive the letter of award in the next few weeks.

congrats and hopefully, the others will have their results soon.

    Hello everyone,

Last week I received an email from the local DAAD office, saying that we won't have general interviews, but they will interview English speaking candidates that have some German knowledge to check their German language skills, to decide how much time the language course will take. The email also said that this interview will not affect the fate of the scholarship in any way.

Has anyone attended this kind of interview? Are the questions Goethe test style, more personal or what?

Hello roland. Good luck on your upcoming interview. what type of scholarship scheme you're applying for?

    Hello Everyone,

I received an email from DAAD that since my application has moved to the final stage, I need to submit my documents on the DAAD portal within 3 days of email receipt. Unfortunately, everything on the DAAD portal is in Germany and there is no provision for changing it to English. I emailed portal@daad.de for help but I have not yet heard from them and I seem to be running out of time. Worse off, the highlight text function on the portal has been disabled. Meanning I cannot copy and paste in google translate. Does anyone know how I can get past this problem?? Thanking you in anticpation.

Hi, congratulations on making this far. I also received the same email from DAAD. There was an important note saying, "Please register on the DAAD portal in German or English, not in Spanish." Did you check if you were registered on DAAD English? My problem now is I couldn't log in on the DAAD portal. It says "Error: Service is not available." The good thing is they gave me until Jan 20 to submit my docs.  portal@daad.de  hasn't replied to me yet as well.

Congrats!!!! I am happy for you. I heard from them on December 10 with a confusing email. But they told me that I have been put in a short waiting list in a case a candidate position opens up or if an additional scholarship arises. But they also asked me to submit a new DAAD file signed and work certificates before the holidays, which I also did. But I am assuming that my chances to make it for the scholarship is thiner by now. Anyway, Congrats for making it that far!

Thank you Henry. I've seen on their website that they will assist shortlisted applicants on seeking external funding as well. I'm wishing you all the best.

Hi Greta, I also applied to Zef and passed the interview...have you heard back from them yet?

    Hello Henry, congrats.

The last time i heard from them was in december before the holidays. They said that i will receive a separate email from daad for funding either last week of january or early february.

    How about you?

many thanks Greta for sharing information.

May i ask if ZEF was your first choice?  Have you applied in any other Phd EPOS program?

I had applied in ZEF and IPPAE  program at Giessen and Hohenheim Universities. have you got responce from any other institute?

I only applied at ZEF because I don't know the exact process on applying three universities. Although i have already research on the web, it's really confusing on my part. I just found that for zef, they will screen and admit the applicants first to BIGS-DR, then they will nominate them to DAAD for funding.

  15. 7 hours ago, kanwal said:

    Hi Greta, good luck!

I have also applied for PhD at ZEF. I did not received any interview call. How did you get to know that they shortlisted 15 applicants?

Hello Kanwal, good luck on your application as well. I  am not so sure though about this whole process. This is the first time i applied on daad.

Received an email last week of nov for a skype interview invitation. I was suppose to reschedule the interview in dec 2 because of the storm passing by in the philippines. However, the prof in zef said that they have to rearrange the interview not later than dec 4 for they're going to start the second process of culling the shorlisted applicants.

Have asked a lot of questions after the interview and they were open to some details re the selection process. He said that they couldnt disclose my ranking, but shared that there were 15 who passed the first screening.

    Hello everyone,

I applied for the long term research grant for phd candidates. The local DAAD office said the results will be announced in april..

Hello, good luck on your application. does it mean that results will be rolled out depending on the scholarship program applied?

Hey, good for you ! How was the interview?

Anyone else got contacted? I'm applying for a master.

i think it went well and lasted an hour. Two professors interviewed me, very friendly. One asked about my background, current and previous work and research experiences, plans, chosen university. The other asked about my proposal; it's like I am defending my proposed research. Both of them were very particular about my research knowledge and experiences. There were 15 of us who were shortlisted and it is up to DAAD how many will be awarded.
