Comments: Thank you johnvln! It happens that we share the same research areas, so I hope that you don't mind me using your post as a template for mine.

I'm in the same boat, and to be honest, not really holding out much hope for either. Others have said that GT is done interviewing, and Cornell is done accepting. I assume they haven't gotten around to rejections yet as a backup. Unfortunate to say the least...

I know people who got their rejections from Cornell already :( I wonder why they won't just notify everyone rejected at the same time, isnt their system automated anyway.

Does anyone have updates for any of the following?

Harvard, Cornell, Northwestern, and Georgia Tech.

I am not sure if they are likely done sending invites/acceptances and I haven't heard anything from any of them.

    Hi.

I contacted Cornell on 11th, and was told that decisions are still being made and that they expect to be done by the end of this month.

On the same day, Harvard told me that they are also still making decisions and that they expect to complete sending out decisions by 15th of March. GAtech I think already sent out all interview invites, so if one didn’t get any notifications, I think it’s rejection :(

Actually I applied to GT BME. I got several skype interviews with POI and received the letter.

But I was wondering if your POI talked about anything else like the chance of admission about international applicant. Thanks a lot!

Hi! Congrats! No, unfortunately he hasn't mentioned anything like that, I assume because he's not a member of admissions committee this year.

  5. Does anyone know if Georgia Tech BME accepts any students without interviews?

I reached out to POI, and was told that GT already sent out interview invites to applicants in US, and that official acceptance letters will go out in mid March.

and regarding international applicants he said this: "If applying from overseas, likely few if any have received letters yet.

So I was wondering if there are any international applicants here who had skype interview for GT BME?

Have you tried to contact their graduate student services coordinator? She replied pretty quickly to my emails (about 2 weeks ago, that was)

    Thank you for the suggestion!

Tried emailing her today, and finally received a reply! It didn't give me any closure though. the tale as old as time, that they are still working on decisions, and that i should be waiting until the end of this month. I highly doubt any programs would be sending out their decisions this late, so I am just giving up at this point.

Hey just wondering if there is any international students out there waiting. I am an international student who studied BME in the US. I applied 15 school but I only got hear back from 2 schools. (rejected by UCB, and waitlisted by UCSD). I was wondering there is a different in the admission process between domestic student and international student?

Hi. International here as well. Haven't heard back from 6/7 schools I applied to. This waiting game is hard..

  8. For those who have not received any decisions from Umich, this is the response I received from the admission committee regarding the status of my application:

"Thank you for your email.  The admissions committee has reviewed your application and no decision has been made.  However, it is not likely that you will be admitted since we received a high number of outstanding applications and have limited openings. Final decisions will be made in late March.  Let me know if you have any questions."

    Possibly, not definitely.

In their email they did not admit anyone, just invite us to visit. I'm sure some people won't take the invitation, or will be otherwise not be offered admission post visit.

I will add, they claimed that each visit is personalized and had us mark faculty we wanted to meet (as well as faculty mark students they wanted to interview), and that the preference for which date we get to visit was based on first come first serve, and to respond in 3 business days. Take that how you will, but I nonetheless wish you the best of luck.

    Thanks for the insight!

I truly hope they'll send out more interviews in the coming days. BTW, I noticed you also applied to Cornell? Did you hear anything from there?

    p/s my specialty is microfluidics/lab-on-a-chip

    sharing some hearsay

Harvard: skype interview, unknown recruitment date

    UCLA: recruitment date: 2/6-2/7

    USC: skype interview

    UCSD: who knows

UCB: Don’t know too much about this, rejected shit ton of applicants last year

UW: interviews (Last year notified Jan19th)

Cornell: I don’t think they do interviews

    Yale: interviews

    MIT: interviews

    Upenn: Jan 24th  3.7-3.9 (last year’s post)

Stanford: MID-MARCH Sent out the decision by April.

    UCI

Johns Hopkins: interviews (heard someone got 2 rounds of interviews) (website says interviews will be out next Monday the latest)

    Purdue:

Boston University: acceptance w/ fellowship on the results page

This may sound dumb, but what exactly is the "recruitment" date for UCLA? Is it a period during which they'll be sending out their invitations for interview? Thanks!
