In other words you get $25K more, If you are super smart with your money, you may have a 100% financed Ph. D. If you keep $1K per month, you get 36k for your fourth year !

I asked for a confirmation and was confirmed. I received it early (monday at noon), so I sent my e-mail and got my answer before the rush.
-
There are about 10 variables, so it very difficult to estimate (unless you've done it).

I just received an e-mail for Ph. D FQRSC. Declined FQRSC, Cat A SSHRC Ph. D... It confirms what I said earlier about FQRSC vs. CRSH in communication.
-
Well, each department chooses it's own students. I know that there were 6 places at UdeM and that possibly 3 people have declined. So it makes us 3 at UdeM... this is one university out of three. I would say between 12-15 per year for the joint.

Very good observation. Either it is sociological (more insecure top scorers here and silent Bs) or technical (they were not mailed on the same day).
-
It's a different game, most people at my department don't get FQRSC but get SSHRC.

Super score! What discipline?

I am accepted but I start in september. I did my master at UdeM so I know people.

I had it. I live in Cote-des-neiges

I am front Montreal and received my answer today. Apparently they were mailed past tuesday. I got the CGS for 3 years Ph. D in communication. Got a score of 20.9. I am a second year master student with a one year sshrc scholarship (over) 17.5k. One low level publication, 3 low level conferences, 1 international peer-reviewed conference paper. My score is good at master but not the best, quite average at ba. I applied through my department and was classified second best, they pushed me back at the faculty (and definitely moved me up at the SSHRC). Yay (for real) So many CGS on the board, we don't quite represent the average results.

I am there (and here also).

You mean this topic I don't know Concordia as much as I know McGill (and UdeM obviously). Have you made contact with a potential advisor? AL
-
Sorry for the strange missing spaces. I don't know where it comes from. [And know I imagine all the people checking frantically for new posts: they are now falling on this little conversation, sad, sad.]

It's a mistake. I will begin in September. So wemay attend the same class at some point. I find the choices to be a littledeceiving (in regards to my orientation which tends toward technologies). Ifyou got a little knowledge of the French language I could not insist enough onfollowing Brian Massumi's class this fall. It could fit great with yourinterests. (He accepts works in English).

McGill, Concordia, UQAM or UDEM ? I study media at UDEM

She is right, get a room.

FUCKING HELL ! Maybe sooner than SSHRC ! (Even if I am a Ph. D applicant, I know it means the same time (MA / Ph. D) for FQRSC) Pardon my french.
-
You are right it wasn't even before may... and master by the end of may.

Last year they were late. Fourth week of April for Ph. D and second of May for Master. May I add that while the reviewers are doing it for free, they have to respect deadlines. My supervisor is a reviewer there and took a moment to explain how it works. Simply, during springbreak, they gather up in Ottawa, they read and review, they make piles (yay or nay) and they have to all agree on rejections (like a jury). They choose and then tell SSHRC. Our faith has already been decided. Right now, it's all paperwork, preparation, etc. It doesn't mean that, as of now, the person responsible for our division actually knows. Anyway, they are not supposed to tell us anything. Though, depending on the person, they have a hard time not telling: last year *he* told me "not to worry" about my master application and I learned that I had the master fellowship for a year a couple days later (by mail). One thing is for sure, we will know. No need to stress them. Anyone applied for the FQRSC in Quebec ? This I don't remember how it works. Good luck to everyone, Alex

You'll get your money for May obviously. Depending on how your university works you may get the whole summer at once... i dunno. Get in touch with your faculty: no need to speculate on your file, just get the information from the right source.
