Not a single person who applied in the category I did got awarded the fellowship, based on what's published online (Geosciences - hydrology). But 10 of us got awarded HMs. Anyone else check the stats for the category they applied in?
I'm also Geosciences - Hydrology. I got the Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship, which is much more competitive than the NSF GRFP, so I was a little surprised to receive an HM. I would have had to reject the GRFP even if I received it, but it still would've been cool to get it.

Wait did you get a call from lindsey? I missed the call and she emailed me and now i think the center is closed...cautiously hopeful
Yes I did - congrats!

For those wondering, I received a phone call a couple of hours ago informing me that I was selected.

Results for the DOE CSGF should be coming out within the next couple of weeks, so I just wanted to get a thread going for everyone to let others know when they hear back.

For those wondering about Berkeley, I was unofficially accepted with funding by my POI in CEE, which is why I put accepted in my signature below (sorry if that is confusing). I recently withdrew my application from Berkeley because I accepted an offer at Stanford in ESS (not CEE, which probably also makes my signature confusing).

I applied to the EnvEng program at Stanford. Has anyone heard back? I'm a bit worried as my application was marked as incomplete due to them not receiving my official transcripts.
I was accepted to a different department at Stanford (ESS), and my application has always said incomplete for the same reason. It also says, however, that it is a manual feature that will not be updated this year. Your department may be different, but you probably shouldn't worry.

If anyone's applied to UC Berkeley, does the line below 'Application Status' say 'Grad 20' ?
Only asking because I swear that 'Grad 20' wasn't there a day ago but might just be going crazy.
Yeah, mine says that too. It sounds like all of the Berkeley applications have that. Probably just a placeholder

Sorry, Hydrobiogeochemist! I wasn’t clear. I know they don’t do formal interviews, but they do have an admit day. I wasn’t able to make it last year, so I want to get a feel for the department overall too.
Gotcha gotcha. Yeah universities use a bunch of different terms for those kinds of things, so it can be a little confusing. Now I'm confused as to why my POI hasn't told me about the admit day... oh well

Has anyone heard when Berkeley’s visit day will be? Not 100% in yet but have strong positives from POI, so hoping it doesn’t clash with another visit day I just got the info for.
On Berkeley's CEE Admissions website, it says "we do not conduct formal interviews for any of our graduate degrees." Also, I know my POI from Berkeley is going to accept me, but he never mentioned an interview or visit day.

Hey there! I applied to a mixture of engineering/science programs, but the two engineering programs I applied to were Environmental Engineering at Berkeley and Hydrologic Engineering at Colorado School of Mines. My POI at Berkeley has essentially accepted me, we are just figuring out funding. I haven't heard anything from CSM yet.

Hi everyone! New here, but have been lurking for a while. I'm wondering what it means to be invited to a "visit weekend." The invites I have received (2) indicate that the admissions panel likes me (obviously) but are certainly not letters of admission. Are these weekends more like interviews or visits to convince me to attend or a combination of both? Any advice would be great
@spacerox It is my understanding that the visit days lean more towards an interview style. If you are admitted, then departments often have a prospective students day (before the April 15 decision deadline), where they really try to convince you to come to their department.

Hello there! I am starting my PhD in Earth System Science at Stanford this fall, and I was admitted straight from undergrad - so it is definitely worth applying. It is my understanding that you spend the first and second year exploring potential research topics, so it is by no means set in stone when you are applying. Let me know if you have any other questions or would like to know more about my undergrad research experience that got me admitted to the program.
