Absolutely nothing has changed on my portal. No idea what any of this means and I'm just tired now. I want this process to be over so I can move on with my life and start making arrangements necessary to pack up my entire life and move.

No. Except for a “glitch” in the Social Sciences application portal whereby their usual request for transcripts from those admitted appeared for everyone, regardless of admission... They have fixed the error, now.

Hello, there. I applied to their program, but haven't heard anything yet. They had a late application deadline (and an even later if applying for only admission--Feb 1), so I wasn't expecting to hear anything until at least next week. ?‍♀️

Yes, they're considering me for the MA in MES, but I will decline. Are you considering it?

I'm sorry to hear it. If it helps, I just got rejected from both Chicago's NELC and Comparative Literature departments. At the same time.

Thank you very much It seems like the NELC/Religion programs are taking their time... it's as though the more niche the Humanities program, the later their response time. Hold out hope--there's no telling what will happen in the coming weeks.

@NyarkoSan I'm the UMich invite - they're flying out a few candidates for campus interviews with the committee. But I haven't heard a peep from any of the other NELC programs I applied to and the silence is killing me. I hate not knowing where I'm going to be in a few months.

Hello, fellow NELC Applicants-- How is February treating you?

@Ivy0327 I would think it depends on the department...I doubt all the committees in the Division start and end their reviews at the exact same time. Hang in there! January will be over in a matter of hours (long though they may feel) and February is sure to bring us closure.

@Ivy0327 I'm not sure about Cinema and Media Studies, but I've applied to two other Humanities Division programs, as well. My understanding is that they'll have results out around the same time -- early to mid February.

@diodotus, thanks for the insight! Out of curiosity, and if you wouldn't mind sharing, where are you getting this information?
