Wanted to hear what your thoughts are on the rep of MIT's poli sci? I have seen it ranked as both top 10 as well as > 20.

Does anyone know when Harvard and Yale are sending out decisions? I know they will be rejections but am just waiting for the assurance of being done with this round.

Well I think in my case prior contact with faculty had a big importance, and the fact that they might have been familiar with some of the people who wrote my LORs. Also, it really helps to talk with current students who can shed light on the department and relevant faculty members you might have missed out (you're welcome to make contact with me next year). I think for every program - the more inside knowledge the better.
I will say though that as time goes by I am increasingly unsure of JSP's positioning for later placement - I think that for people with a law undergraduate degree/JD perhaps going to a disciplinary program might be even more advantageous.

Does anyone have news about MIT?
And also, how bad is going to Toronto for a possible tenure track position in a North American institution (as I've heard from people is the case)? I've received an offer with a generous scholarship.

I think everyone’s status had the same Grad 20 appear and then disappear (mine did).
I wouldn't be pessimistic yet - last year's calls came on February 12th. But on that note, does anyone know if they also call international applicants (those who are admitted)?

Does anyone have news on MIT? Judging by previous years we could expect to hear news this week.

I am also waiting each day for responses from GW and UNC, as it seems it was around this time in previous years that they sent results. How are you all coping with the stress and uncertainty? I am especially afraid of being rejected from all ten places I applied to, although I know it's a scenario I should prepare for. Would appreciate any words of wisdom!

Thanks for your reply! I'm thinking about political economy and social policy. There are two professors there who are the top of the field.. comparing it to UPenn.
