  1. Oh thank you for reminder! I do have someone who I really want to work with, but I'm not sure if he is going admit new students this year. Maybe I should send an email and simply ask him?
  2. Thank you reply! I don't have much time, but I do want to give it a try. I'm planning to talk to my current advisor and see how she feels about it.
  3. Hey guys, I'm a first-year master student. Currently planning to apply for PhD in 2022Fall but also considering to do it this year (I know it's late!). I would like to hear your suggestions about anything that need to know before I apply for any program. Below is a brief description about myself: First-year master student at Penn, interested in trauma and cross-cultural. I did poor in my GRE and exam is just not the right thing for me haha. I have done a few researches but did not publish anything. Currently doing a field research. I would like to apply for counseling, social psychology, education psychology, or development psychology. I'm an international student, and policies related to international students made me feel a little bit concern. The covid-19 also brings up lots of unsure things, and I know some universities have budget problems. And then...I really want to enter into a top program, but don't know how to get started.
  4. Hi guys. I will start to work on my master degree in counseling this fall, but I just can't decide if I really want continue to a PhD degree. I have passion about research, and also have several potential research ideas. But I'm not sure if I can handle the pressure and spend 6-8 years on this. A PhD degree will absolutely be helpful for my future career, but the cost can be high: not only the financial things, but also homesick and family issues (I'm an international student). I am wondering what I should know before I make the decision, and what personal characteristics I should have if I choose this way. Also, do you have any suggestion about my situation?
  5. Hi, this program just accepted me. It's a casual conversation via phone, just some general questions about yourself.
  6. Oh this's the program I just received offer. Are you waiting for the interview?
  7. I submitted all my materials in the early of January, and I received the interview invitation at the end of January. It's a really faster process, about 3 weeks long.
  8. Hi, I just received the offer. The interview is actually not parts of the admission process, it's more like a chance for you to interview the school. It went well, we talked for 20mins and she said I would definitely be the incoming student.
  9. Hi guys, I just received the interview request from UPenn. Wanna to know if you have any suggestion or tips that can help me stand out from the crowd? This is an international application; however, I went to an US college for bachelor degree. My GPA and GRE are both poor, but I have some research projects, study aboard experience (in US and UK), and some internships.
