  1. Many Linguistics MA programs do admit students who do not have a degree in linguistics or related fields. I've seen students majoring in chemistry and engineering getting in. What matters to your application is that you provide a good writing sample and statement of purpose, which demonstrates your understandings and interests in this field. Given that you have good GPA, TOEFL, and GRE, your chances could be high. But remember, scores are always secondary to your understandings, interests, as well as future plans to enter the academia. Hope it helps! Good luck!
  2. Hi! I am an international applicant and I've already received master's admissions from University of Delaware and Graduate Center, CUNY. I also applied for Purdue and Kansas. I have limited trainings in linguistics and hope to apply for a PhD after the two year MA. My research interests are in phonetics, speech sciences and psycholinguistics. Is there any advice for accepting which offer letter? It seems that Kansas and CUNY have better environment for doing phonetics and psycho/neuro- studies, but the structure at Delaware is more flexible. Anyone familiar with those programs?
