  1. Thank you. :3 Applied to Brown here. But after re-reading my writing sample, I have a hunch that I might fail all. Which I shouldn't do at the moment coz I still have classes to go and a dissertation to write. Well, but I've done so many stupid things. Haha.
  2. I'm sorry. Same here. Just got the rejection 1 min ago.
  3. Just got rejected by Cornell 30 secs ago. I think they're sending out results. Congratulations to those who made it.
  4. I absolutely love reading poetry, even write my own, but never dared to apply as a poet because, as stated earlier, I don't feel like I understand it sufficiently (I've never taken a class on poetry etc.). I did consider a cross-disciplinary program but never applied to one. Besides all that, what I really want to do is fiction and hopefully, one day, make films. So, fiction was my only option. Edit: I've never actually taken a fiction writing workshop either so... To be honest I just started writing recently and been published only in poetry. But I always feel like I would want to do fiction. I did Political Science in college so it's nothing close to all this. Haha. @MFALongshot: I always want to do films as well. *hi-5*
  5. Anyway, during the killing wait, I've just found this amazing journal https://typishly.com/faqs/. They say they'll reply in one day with yes/no and a personalised note. So cool, isn't it? I'm going to send my writing sample haha.
  6. Rejections are stressful, yes. But it's important you keep writing and not let it keep you down. I know it sounds like some self-help shit. And no one is in any others' shoes. But imagine one day Syracuse would like to give you an honorary doctor and you go there to give a commencement speech. You can tell the students there that: well, Syracuse rejected me but I still write. Haha. Sorry, I'm so a compulsive optimist (receiving dozens of rejections every month). Keep your chin up eh.
  7. Hi Catkin. it's lovely to have new member here. Welcome ❤️ I'm also a newbie we have 4 schools in common. Yeah, best of luck to us all. I'm so on edge every single moment of my waking life haha.
  8. I'm so sorry about the rejection. As @rbr542 has said, it's all subjective. Just think some day they will include your works in their reading list. That's my survival strategy whenever I got rejections or bad grades in schools. Haha.
  9. No. I didn't even apply because I don't have a TOEFL. But I would have to drop some schools anyway because I already did too many and it cost a lot. Should have dropped them some emails to ask in the first place. Well, maybe that's destiny haha.
  10. Spain is a must. Cuisine and drinks are unbeatable haha. And incredibly cheap. ❤️ Now you can count Galicia as well.
  11. That's so cool. Michener funding is just heaven. Haha. Back then I really wanted to apply but they asked for TOEFL, which I couldn't take because last year I was in Scotland and there's no test centre in the whole country. Haha. Good luck to you. Yeah, this time is tough I can imagine. Always on edge myself. :((
  12. Great. What are yours? I'm checking it every day since the submission. Crazy I know haha. But the waiting is just unbearable. I can't help it.
  13. Thank you. Best of luck for all of us. Seems that everyone applied to the legendary Iowa. Haha. I'm Vietnamese, but studying in Spain.
  14. Many thanks for your reply. I'm still on 'In progress' for Iowa too. Hope that they'll be sending out results soon. My heart literally jumps off any time I got a sound from my inbox haha. Best wishes from Spain.
  15. Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here. Just found this amazing forum amid the killing wait. Haha. Applied to Iowa, Cornell, Michigan, Brown, NYU and Stegner. My Applyweb portal doesn't change anything since I submitted. Is that a bit weird? Fingers crossed and best of luck to us all. :3
